I don't know about going bankrupt but this comes out of the blue and releases next month, heavily discounted to encourage pre-orders, they need cash flow obviously.

I agree, it is very woke. Painfully so. That's just the direction that entertainment has gone in the past two or so years. Feminazis taking over movies, and games going woke.

That said, I'm cautiously optimistic that it won't affect how the game plays. I've watched a couple of vids discussing the trailer so far, and am convinced that it will at least be entertaining for one playthrough. For $10, I can't complain.

I think XCOM 1 (of the Firaxis variety of course) was a better game than XCOM 2, but I have sunk vastly more time in 2 than I ever did in 1. I've completed both games on the hardest difficulty on Ironman mode without mods, and have completed them dozens of times with mods. While I still think the OG X-COM games are vastly superior, I really like the direction Firaxis has gone with them. Though I still miss air combat. This game will be a nice little distraction to tide us over until they announce XCOM 3 officially.

You clearly never played XCOM 1 or 2... or the old ones from 20 years ago.
This game is clearly a spinoff of XCOM 2 and its a story progression game. My favorite was Xcom:Terror From the Deep and hopefully introducing the mega cities, this will move perfectly to Xcom3: terror from the deep.
