Imo its because Torque has 0 experience with social contacts and in to prevent to somehow make a mistake she pushes everyone away,
There is once conversation between Torque and Kelly where the former says she has problems "off the field".
Axiom's biography makes a point to say that he holds no grudge against humanity for losing the war. Verge's backstory is that he came to empathize with humans due to constantly being inside their heads. Torque's backstory is that she was a POW until the war's end, at which point her options were either to get along with humanity or execution. So she might still be salty.
She's oddly racist towards spaceborn aliens and considers herself an Earthling since she was hatched up in the arctic.
Put together and I think there's no real reason for her animosity; she's just that surly.
A conversation with Kelly explained that Torque is still trying to fit in with everyone else. Giving time, which would be outside of this game, she might be able to get along.
Of course she is antisoc.
But between Whisper and Torque conversation, Yea, it is likely Torque has some serious history with him. Makes me very curious about what happen to them. Hope it's not related of breaking our favorite Torque's heart or I swear as commander, I will not hesitate pull the trigger on his head.
