What is the point of Gate Selection in career mode IF YOUR ONLY CHOICE IS FAR RIGHT?
Edit: This deserves a re-write.

I've been enjoying career mode but not interested in running qualifying races. This automatically removes all gate options and relegates you to the far right starting lane. This, I assume is the same as qualifying last place.

I get that you can just button-mash past these screens, but why include them at all? If we've established the game mode will skip the qualifier every time, why not automatically load to those hideous meth models and start the race!

This should be done for both the player running in shortened mode and for those who get last qualifier.

Am I missing something here?

It does that because you don't qualify...gate selection order is based on qualifying times.

Correct, I'm running shortened game modes. No qualifying required. So, why select a position if the only option is last? Just send it.

Ah I gotcha. Yeah I suppose that is pretty redundant and annoying.

I thought you were being a ♥♥♥♥,but I see what you mean now too.If you skip qualifying they might as well just start the race.It would save a few lines of code too.Sorry for thinking you were another whiny kid.

I agree dude, I was annoyed by this too. I think Milestone took a lot of shortcuts with this game.

No worries man. And I probably do deserve some of that heat anyway because I've ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a few other threads.

I'm impressed with the overall graphics, feel, and features of the game. But common-sense issues like the DLC not working or this gate example make me wonder WTF the devs are doing.

Milestone always involve these wtf thoughts in their games, I start to think it's a feature. They pretty much go some steps forward mith every new mx game but also go steps back too with features and stuff. For example in mesx1 you could vote for track, weather and do a championship online, in mxgp pro they missed the weather voting and now you can't do the championship in mp. That really doesn't make a lot of sense to me

i always choose the outside gate anyways just because its easier to get a hole shot instead of trying to force my way though all the other riders.

I totally agree with the OP!

At this point I'm only buying it to add to my collection. I feel like more people need to support motocross/supercross developers. I don't even like Supercross. Supercross is for observers, outdoor tracks are for the rider's enjoyment.

I didn't expect there to be any real or imagined outdoor tracks in this game, would really love to see what they come up with if they produced a nationals expansion or separate game. Really enjoying the graphics.
