Not a fan of the ending
While I liked this game as a cutesy dating sim kind of thing and the horror elements were actually pretty creepy to read if you are able to put the thought of your mind that its not a real world.

I felt like it was way to obvious with the text appearing in the bottom right at the start of the game. I was instantly catching on. The only part I didn't catch onto completely was that the teacher was the AI. It was pretty clear she was the killer though.

The one that was picked was kinda lame in some ways. Like I get it but really? And the only "good" ending is really to say you love the AI since you either lose your body or the program shuts down if you take either of the other options.

So the ending feels really not climactic. Especially when its a long type of these games where its more of a sim game at the same time. It just feels like it doesn't pay off for all the time put into it since its pretty much no matter what you do there are only 3 endings.

And to me because now I know that no matter what I do the ending is just a selection of 2 choices at the end there is really no desire to go back through and see the rest of the game for the girls I didn't pick since I know it ultimately has nothing to do with how everything turns out.

And I feel like the romance portion at the end of the game gets completely thrown off by the fact everything your character has been through and how messed up they are by it I can't see anything like that being reasonable.

For this ending, I think it would be better if this game was just regular VN, not VN-simulation hybrid. The simulation part feels like time-consuming rather than interesting.

No. Going with the AI is not a victory. You basically have only bad options in the end. MC has memories of Hikari from childhood and she is not real. That means entire person who MC is will be remade when Mc's body wakes up. Because MC loses all memorys of dream world(his entire life) when he/she wakes up. Wake up victory is basically suicide for MC. I wrote long comment about this on discussion "The Ending (spoilers)". I can copy it here if asked but it can be found there. Best option in my mind is the fairy tale because that is only option where MC gets some payback and he gets to live longer than with other options.

The ending... Oh my this feels like Cyberpunk 2077 all over again with discussing the ending. What a rush and a mindF.
I do have to give HTDAMG a point, its at least an ending, as in. thats it.
I suppose I'm both a sucker for the trap as wel as that I find the premise of that dreamworld being something that hits very close to home.
Long story short since I dont want to type up an essay) To me to "good" ending is: Stay in the simulation with your LI (Miyu in my case), kick Satomi into that dark forgotten locked-away place and live out your life with your friends.
And yes, thats also why I see quite a strong resemblance to CP77's ending when you go with Nomads.

However, gameplaywise, IF Satomi received a few followup scene's where she fullfills her LI's status towards the MC, that would be a very interesting alternative to life in the virtual world.
And, as you may figure, waking up is not and ending I truly consider (and the 'abrupt' credits roll doesn't help there either).

As an alternative, I think I would device for mysef that the true ending is when you manage to take your LI on her final date after the final exams but before Satomi goes haywire on them. and basically just stop it there (would be easier on the mind).
