The Ceremony Bugged Master Brick?

Anyone else come across where the Master Brick you use the teleport beam to access (to the left of the main elevator lift just past the large fountain).
You have to use the teleport beam to place two different colored orbs into their slots. The red one goes right in, the blue one starts to go toward it but then the latches come down before it seats and won't let it go in then. Any attempts to reset the level, or even trying a new install, new save game, new PC even, same thing.
Any hints on how to do this one? It's holding me up from 100% and super frustrating I can't see what I'm doing wrong.

For anyone else hitting this issue, I just found a solution. I hit F2 to bring in a second player using the frankly AWFUL keyboard and mouse controls, but when using the tractor beam with the secondary character like this the orb popped in just fine...

(Note, still had to restart the level to reset the clamps of course)

So I did get this working after bringing in a second character. I cancelled him out almost immediately and was able to get the thing to psychic into the slot.

My new problem though, I didn't trigger the 100% :( did you get that to trigger Dark?

This wasn’t my last purple brick, I encountered it partway through my end-game collection and when I got my last purple brick when completing syspocalypstar yes it did trigger 100% so I don’t know what has gone wrong for you if you’d already collected the other 399 bricks…

Same problem years later. My game even crashed when trying it with a 2nd player
