this is the worst lego game YET
got this on the ps4 wow what a FUGE mistake i made!

just when you thought the game couldn't get any worse than the movie...oh but it can! thankfully the only difference between this and the movie is it's got no gratuitous singing! oh but that's not what makes it so bad this is:

there is absolutely no more exploration involved I mean there is exploration but it's been dumbed down to the max. basically you just roam the maps now looking for bricks which conveniently most are just out in the open all you have to do is look behind a rock and it's there and done. NO more playing cool mini games to unlock stuff NO more using abilities you unlock later to get stuff they are still there but maybe TWO on each map the rest just WALK up to it and collect!

Oh but it gets worse to unlock stuff now you have to open a chests which are scatted around the map and again not really hidden just walk up to and open and take the relics you get from them to a shop to unlock...wait for it...A RANDOM ITEM!! That's right you NO LONGER have control over what you get to unlock it's pure chance good luck getting 100% in this you'll be going back and forth between chests unlocking the same **** over and over again before you MIGHT finally get that last item you need!

SO to recap

red bricks = GONE!
character tokens = GONE!!
vehicles tokens = GONE!!!
Other *** to unlock tokens = GONE!!!!

Apart from that being bad the maps are also bad there's no more levels within levels you stay on the same map now and do all the quests within that map everything that made the lego levels cool is now gone. You will barely use abilities to get to areas you couldn't get to before and all the quests are linear which is pretty much go get this and bring this back here to proceed and fight off all the enemies that appear. SO BORING!!

And it wouldn't be a lego game without the famous CTD and glitches yep this has it too included a BUG that will stop you getting 100% try to scan a rock in the asteroid field and it won't scan keep trying ans BOOM CTD you will never unlock this item EVER.

Dude, it's a movie for kids. It follows that the tie-in game is going to be geared towards kids as well. What are you expecting, GTA? If you want to play something more mature there are plenty of option on Steam.

As for stability, yeah I've experience a few CTD, not good. I hope they can patch those out.

Sadly this is the new way games are made, steam opened up a cesspool for gaming when they allowed ♥♥♥♥ EA games.

Games aren't made for gamer's, they are made to get you addicted so you spend more money.

They chop out parts of a game because it took them a good amount of time to create and code it.

So to save money, while taking purchasers money, they create a half-***ed game and sell it for the usual price.

I have only played for a few hours, but it seems pretty bad in comparison to other Lego games. It must be oriented to small kids because it does not have any of the look and feel of the other games. I am pretty bummed so far since I like the low stress, predictablity, and simple puzzles of most their games.

So far this one just feels like I am watching the game do the work...other than gathering parts there is really nothing to do. I am hoping I am still in the tutorial and it gets better...but sounds like it may not.

Speaking as an adult, that's a copout. All of the lego games are primarily for kids. But all of them up to now have been enjoyable for adults looking for a fun and funny game. I was disappointed by the first lego movie game as all the humour was taken from the movie. This seems far worse, on top of a lazy port (no keyboard reconfiguration, reallly?). If I'm looking for lego gta, that's what undercover is for, still way more entertaining than lego movie game.
I have it on ignore because the movie was so bad. I LOVED the first one, but I couldn't get past the intro to the 'princess' duplo thing - it just got cringy and lame... a shame too.

LEGO has a ton of potential to grow into many different adaptations and layouts that's fun for the entire family. You can tell that's what their aim is especially for Marvel/DC adaptations. All the criticisms of this game are 100% valid.

I feel it was rushed and they decided to take old features and Frankenstein them into world skipping so they didn't have to deal with level design.

Well, I mentioned this in my review; but this game is very incomplete. From what I understand about the movie and here; it stopped about halfway through the movie {Near the 57% mark or 60 minutes of an hour and 45 minute movie.}. They forgot to add in a vast majority of features in exchange for a half-hearted attempt to incorporate Lego Worlds into this game properly and to make it worse; actually ad-libbed a vast majority of the game but somehow left out any speaking lines except for Lucy. Bring back Vitruvius and Emmet; or even President Business. :lunar2019madpig:

This is the worst Lego game I have ever bought too.... I also only played a few hours before I just got fed up with it.
Don't like the format, graphics, or game play. The story line is irrelevant for me. I enjoy playing all my other Lego games (I have them all), except Lego Worlds (my previous least fave) and now this one, and have not always watched/read any other corresponding media.
I just personally don't like this style game and am hoping that this is not going to be how all future Lego games are.

Getting through the first level I'm getting the same impression.
I'll stick it out and finish it - but... it's very different from all the other games which I love completely. It's simply not... what I was hoping or expecting. I hope this isn't the case with a couple of the others I'm yet to play.

Being 5GB was kind of an indicator, but I should have seen through that.

tbh its sounds like most experimental openworld lego game(like lego worlds), than worst one. though, unlocking same chest over and over for random item is kinda lol. i mean, we can 100% game just opening same chest over and over?
