New to Granblue

Hi, I've never played to any Granblue games, but I've craving a new JRPG game, and saw a ton of recommendations to this game. How friendly is this to newcomers and how good is the story and game play mechanic? Unfortunately I'm picky about my games, So I'm hoping for a rich story single player and fun combat mechanics like FF7 remake or trails of series. I not looking for a heavy grind, and a combat focused over story game like the Monster Hunter series. Would you recommend this game for me?

Newcomers: B - quite easy to get into, but assumes you already know the characters
Story: C - it's anime bull, cliche, and over the top, you won't play for the story, trust
Gameplay: S - it's the best part about the game, the monster hunter style thrill ride

This game makes FF7's combat look awful and it's highly addictive.
But the story makes Trails games look like Pulitzer winning material.

Ok so its looking like its in the opposite direction of what I want from a JRPG game than if its like monster hunter.

Yah this is diff not for you. Story is less then like 15h, story isn't in depth into details, kinda gets straight to the point. as a trails fan myself I can somewhat see what you are looking for, I say go to the persona series if u haven't played those.

Not the game you're looking for. Combat is amazing, but story is alright and the grind once you get to the end is absolutely asinine.

The MonHun comparison is from the endgame grind and mission structure. Choose a quest, crush the monsters, use their parts to upgrade your stuff, repeat on tougher monsters.
