Buff Rosetta: weakest endgame character
Here's a breakdown on why Rosetta, my ex-main (friendship ended wirh Rosetta), is the weakest endgame character.

1. Slow, strong-ish attacks have more chance to miss opportunity. This, coupled by her abilities having log cast times = interruption of dps to hit combos / position / etc.

2. No substantial way to buff "cast time."

3. Her strength is in stun/link buildup, but other characters do it better while bringing more utility to the group. Especially noticeable in pugs where your fast SBA buildup / breaking / link buildup is wasted if they're not building the same. Sitting at 100 when everyone else is at 40-50 is just wasting the choices that got you there. Getting a boss to 75% link only for it to reset, same.

4. Weapon choice is arbitrary. Simply put, she gains the least from terminus weapon since buffing bad damage is still bad damage.

5. Her main gimmick is useless in the end game. 2 defensive buffs when people are building to not get hit by any damage, and a non-stacking attack buff when people are dmg capped and only impacting extreme outlier dpsers that you can't guarantee will even be in the group

6. Roses themselves are borderline useless. They aren't impacted by most sigils and don't contribute as much due to this, but require ability choices or ramp-up to get to their mediocre state.

7. combo 5+6 and you have her unique sigil: one increasing rose attack interval and the other buffing useless buffs. Not good. Most minmax run their best sigil with +15 "good secondary." With her, neither of her uniques are ideal and one or two +15 "good secondaries" are far better.

8. Main debuff, poison, has a poor uptime and doesn't add much damage. She can't gain from injury to insult sigil because of it's uptime and relies on other debuffs to maximize it making it a dud sigil

9. Implied by other points, having the worst damage means the endgame minmax of damage output is wasted on her. terminus weapon isn't better for her than the stunner weapon, and the damage loss isn't noticed at all as it doesn't lead to slower kill times.

10. Her ability to have roses attack when you attack + stout heart would be a wasted slot if it wasn't better than her other bad abilities. Stout heart sigil is a must for 100% uptime because of the slow casts, which eats an entire sigil line and devalues the self-buff.


All that said, still fun to play, it's just she tapers off hard after proud "progression" during which she's basically a support / can't lose god if built full defensively with maxed potion. 99999 hps, guts, rezzes and spammable group heals while being fully immune to pulls and whatever tricks the bosses have is nifty to get through it once / with newbs, but once you're in the "minmaxing kill times" phase of the game, having rosetta there = slower kills, full stop. she's great on fights where people don't know what they're doing, or salvaging a bot/afk infested run (or getting revenge on them by dragging out the fight win or lose).

This is because the meta is "maximizing + hitting dmg cap first, then supplemental damage" and that's done by avoiding damage and not relying on buffs.

And so "support" consists of useful debuffs to the boss, slow/stun, and are easily the top classes in the game.

There are many ways to approach fixing this, but all of them would make rosetta MORE of a god in the leadup to endgame.

they are:

- retooling poison into having more utility like a minor slow, increased dmg taken
- retooling buffs to interact with full health / avoiding damage / dmg caps
- more rose interactions with sigils
- sigils that improve cast time (charge is basically a cast time with variable release so yeah)
- simply increasing the numbers on the attacks and abilities.


Of course some character in a roster this deep is going to be at the bottom, but an undergeared DPS or other support offers much more to the group than a fully maxed rosetta, this is like all of the other characters are S-C tier and rosetta is F tier.

That said, this is mostly only relevant for coordinated teams. Way too many variables with randoms, where only a few characters are good if you have 2+ of them or suddenly sustain is the difference between win or lose.

If you don't mind slow proto baha kills being 5-6 minutes, none of this matters.

Will they rework the whole game to make her good ? I don't think so.

They don't need to rework the whole game, as I said, they could double her damage numbers and she'd still be weak in minmax endgame. The reason why they don't is it would be a free fullgame clear because progression != endgame
