Weakness vs Weak Points?
I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between weakness (elemental weakness) and weak points?
Supposedly there is a difference, but how do you know if you're hitting a weak point?
I see people say that weakness dmg and weak point dmg is yellow/orange, but when you're using their elemental weakness, how are you supposed to know if you're hitting weak points or not?

Weakpoints are spots on a boss that would make them take extra damage normally head or hand after their armor gets broken. This is usually indicated by a gold ring around the damage number (this also applies to rear damage).

Weakness damage turns number into full gold. It just means your character's element is effective against the enemy. Elemental weakness apparently push you over the damage gap so its more useful.

The indicators in this game can get really hard to read. Crit damage and damage cap can look very similar and I only noticed weakspot damage indicator after hitting the dummy for 2 hour.

When you hit weakspot and weakness its extra hard to read because its just glow yellow the entire time.

what do you mean how damage cap looks? As far as I know damage cap you can only tell by the value being the same, at the cap, the hits and numbers don't look any different. There is a chart somewhere in the game maybe a loading screen or tutorials that shows all the damage number types and none of them is damage cap.

Damage cap hits have a yellow outline to them.

Ok! Will try and keep an eye out for these differences!

There is actually a way to tell damage cap without seeing consistent number. Sometimes you're damage is low enough that only a few skills hit the cap especially on some slower attacking skills with fewer hits.

Any damage that hits a cap is indicated by a gold highlight. You can test this out at the dummy. Its hard to read because there are multiple numbers (and sup damage) going off and when you crit, there is a blue highlight similar to the damage cap that goes off.

It's honestly hard to read imo and I hope they make a better indicator for damage cap.

war elemental indeed has something else happening because against the dummy and bosses like pyet-a that have no elemental weakness it is still increasing your damage.

easy test is go to the dummy and be waaaay under damage cap by having maxed damage cap and no other sigils, do a 10 second run.

now include war elemental, ta da, the numbers are still cyan but you're doing 20%+ more damage.

Thats something good to know. I always assumed war element didnt work on dummy because they didnt have a weakness. I've been taking them off under that assumption.
