End game soloable?
Is the end game soloable? Can you solo endgame contents with NPCs like you can in MH:R or will you need to play with other people online?

Yes, you can. AI is very competent with minor hiccups sometimes. They ain't bringing much DPS compared to a real player, so if you're playing with AI, it's better to play a DPS-focused character.

Yes, the AI is good enough to clear about 99% of the quests in the game as long as you outfit them decently. There are even some bosses I prefer to do with the AI over actual players.

I agree. Hard trophies like Moonbreaker is easier with AI.

Absolutely you can play the game entirely solo, thanks to the solid AI. There are some missions that are arguably easier with the AI, too.

There are definitely some that benefit from having a human team, though. If you're farming for Terminus weapons, you can absolutely do the final mission with AI but it'll take longer. It's much easier with human teammates who understand the mechanics, know when to pop certain moves, etc..

I usually solo MH games, so I tried this here too. Well, there are some damage walls. Bahamut versa was the first fight that made me go online, because after fully gearing my characters with all the best weapons I had and best sigils I could get it was just not enough. Sigils IV are not nearly as powerful as sigils V+. Since the game just kills you if you don't deal enough damage, it's really hard to beat. Reminded me of Alatreon. I bet it's not impossible, but the gear is a huge issue. After that quest you get sigils V, which are pretty good to go back and solo him. The same issue happened with the last droid and proto bahamut.

Thanks all for the answers!! I have horrible social anxiety so I prefer to play games solo. 😅

Players do a better job hitting stuff, situational skill usage (I'm looking at you, AI Vane), etc.

AIs generally do a better job in not dying every 10 seconds, and reviving you. Especially in reviving you. All 3 AI bots can and WILL perfect dodge and use that immortality to revive you whenever possible. Actual players will attempt to do this (if they even bother at all) and most likely die as well.

Debatable. My first Bahamut versa clear was on offline with AI because there was no teams that survived until the end. Now, it might be better because everyone is strong and everything is brute forceable, but considering that the game AI is so good i would take my chances with it than joining an multi session.

Not sure what you are debating. The key factor in defeating bosses is not "how much dmg you can dish out". Its about NOT dying. The AIs are gods at dodging and thus won't die. This makes AI more reliable than players if it comes to just "winning".

Unfortunately, all their character specific mechanical abilities went out the window. Io will never Quick Charge. Vane will use his immortality barrier on the flimsiest of attacks instead of bloodthirst, etc.

If ai is better than human or vice versa. It was very clearly stated in both posts.

Debatable is also different from debating. Debatable can be used as a opening statement on what someone said. Debating is an exchange of ideas from different parties (in this case me and the guy i replied), which as you can see is not happening. :)

Gonna take a few try but it'll do the trick assuming they're at the right power level.

I got gimped a few times when I first did Bahamut verse and my AI team decided to not chain link 100% during the final dps enrage but eventually I got it down with my AI team.

Its depends. For versa gear level don't really matter, only thing you need to do if you don't have enough output is to keep SBA for damage check phase. You don't really need V+ sigils for this fight. Pryat damage checks don't really hard and its quite possible to do them even without using SBA at all. You don't need high level gear for that. Proto only one boss, who really have hard dps checks. This is boss, where you can't go with midiocre gear. Its possible to complete with 1 awaken piece, however you need to keep SBA for last dps check. If you don't sure about getting SBA charged around 20% hp you better to save it till the end.
Beside there is other quests that really hard to deal with, like pair of Storm and Frost dragons. I have alot more troubles to deal with them, rather then with Bahamut and Prayt altogether.

As of right now you can solo the entire game with AI companions, and to be honest, when they are geared, they perform better than most multiplayer PUGs you'll find through matchmaking
perl Feb 19, 2024 @ 7:58pm
Yes you can
Aihana Etsu Feb 20, 2024 @ 6:53am
Yes you can, you just need to farm a lot longer than playing with pub. You can just focus on one char till Proud difficulty playing with AI. But to do Proud, you need to upgrade 3 other chars. So a lot of farming the extreme/maniac quest or you can skip all that effort and play in multiplayer.
