I wasn't one of the people who were waiting years for this game. I had barely seen a trailer or heard about it a few months ago. I bought it on release and tried it one night but then my friends got me into a game I thought I would never play and I haven't played anything else every night since. 60 bucks on a AAA game to let it collect virtual dust but I know it will always be waiting for me.

How much fun is the game so far for all of you and what is your favorite character that you had to unlock?

oh and the other game I'm playing every night is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Fortnite rofl! Who knew that game is fun like really who the ♥♥♥♥ knew? zero build only though ROFL

Had tons of fun. The story was possibly the worst thing I've ever seen in anything, even by anime standards, but the gameplay is a blast. I unlocked Charlotta as my first character and she's been my main ever since. Played some of the other characters and they've been a lot of fun, but Charlotta is just everything I want.

Favorite character? I'd say either Percival or Charlotta. They're not super technical, but they still have enough depth to be interesting since both of them have a parry.

Charlotta does lots of hits and Percival does big chunky hits.

Game is fun up to the point your AI companion is decently geared to farm everything for you without your main needing to min-max stats which took me about 100hours. The game is grindy but makes up for it using different character playstyle.
I played through the game with the default characters and settled on Eugen - a character with sniper scope and grenade toss because played too much hack/slash and wanted something new before Dragon's Dogma 2. Reached end game content kept dying from MP because sniper mode makes you focus on one point and unable to see those overhead projectile (indicated below your feet with red circle). Then went to unlock everyone but realise perfect button press (Zeta) and charge attacks is not for me. Revert back to Eugen again without the need to look at the red indicators because game decided to give me 2 sigil called improved dodge+ and flight of fight, which means dodging into enemy hitbox grants me invincibility to keep going into sniper mode ignoring any form of damage for 3 sec.

For myself the fun is not through playing different character but instead to experiment the right sigil that will allow me to survive everything.

cool thanks for info and sharing yall. im sure ill have fun once i actually play the game longer. i really didnt expect to randomly start no lifeing a game thats been out since 2017.

I play insect glaive in monster hunter so zeta looked interesting as the first character i might unlock

The game is very fun, it's flashy and full of cool skills and stuff if you enjoy that kinda stuff. Combat is very simple; some characters are more """complex""" than others but their combos are not difficult at all, especially if you're a Devil May Cry or other actions enjoyer, this will feel like a children's game
The only things I didn't like ar the repetitive use of bosses and models (some have different abilities but it's really nothing new) and the bosses being easy even on Proud mode (which is currently the highest difficulty)
Also the end game grind for the final weapon for your characters; it's not the grind itself that's the problem but the boss you have to fight for it: it's the easiest and most boring ♥♥♥♥ I've ever seen lol
If you're not going in looking for a hardcore experience then it will be really fun, like I still enjoy trying new characters and getting my favorite ones upgraded

So I barely played the browser game beforehand so I didn't have that attachment to it really, but when I first saw the game in...I wanna say 2018? It caught my attention and then all the following trailers started getting me hyped up for it more and more.

That said, while not knowing anything about the series at all, I picked Siegfried purely on his appearance because I like the sort of edgy looking knight & greatsword combo. And he's a bit of a pretty boy. (I main Dark Knight on FFXIV btw) and boy I made the right choice. Playing him feels so satisfying to me, especially when you kind of abuse the game's mechanics to dish out a little extra damage with his mechanic. I love the timing based attacks, his skill animations are satisfying and the party-wide debuff immunity makes me feel useful.

Close to insect glaive but faster and more dodgy. I can only do 2 dive attack, the 3rd hit's timing is too difficult for me. She has a character specific sigil that increases the window for button presses, I got to the 3rd hit and failed on the 4th. A skilled player could stay airborne and keep doing damage, but not me.

well since we both can type whatever the ♥♥♥♥ we want and i can make a post regarding this game about whatever the ♥♥♥♥ i want i figured i would get others insight as i have no intention of playing the game soon. I only came to the forum since i was updating all my steam games. My experience matters to me more than your words but since you and everyone else has played the game more than me i was simply curious about other peoples experience with the game so far and the unlockable characters they enjoy.

I impulse bought this game while high af and was planning to refund it. I knew nothing about Granblue outside of it being huge in Japan.

Then I realized it's anime Monster Hunter mixed with Tales of Arise. The combat felt so damn satisfying.

Zero regrets.

Well, except maybe coming these boards and seeing the vocal fan base REEEEing lol

For reference: been gaming for 30~ years across nearly all genres. I've grown to dislike most AAA Western games. If this reference point sounds familiar to you, you'll probably like it =)
