PROTO BAHAMUT ---> Loot Change Suggestion
Anyone at "endgame" has done or is doing Proto Bahamut in search of their Terminus weapons.

The problem is two-fold here.

1) a Terminus weapon may or may NOT drop upon defeating Proto Bahamut
2) if a Terminus weapon does drop it's RNG which character receives it

I'm suggesting the devs remove both of these hurdles. Each defeat of Bahamut drops not a Terminus weapon but a reagent that is trade-able to Seikro (or whatever his name is) for whichever Terminus weapon the player desires.

In total it would still take 25 successful runs to obtain all the Terminus weapons.
We have a ton more to do in this game, I for one would rather not spend all day, every day on the same boss.

Update = after discourse:
1) Matchmaking is needed for PROUD difficulty
2) ALL Quests in PROUD have to have a chance to drop a Terminus OR (see next)
3) Preferably instead of x RNG Terminus dropping, instead a reagent we can trade to SeiroKarte for any desired Terminus is ideal or a token where x tokens = 1 Terminus (1x Token is obtained per each successful Proud quest)
4) Pity Luck is a must, surprised most devs have not figured this out yet
5) One suggestion was the ability the craft Terminus weapons after defeating Bahamut, I think this is the winner. That means we have to still chase x materials from other bosses to uncap it but it beats doing the same boss over.
6) At the minimum, per PROUD quest completed: 5x Fortiude Crystal (L), 1x Silver Centrum, 1x Curio, 1x Mirage Munition, 1x Exceptional Refinium, 1x Legendary Merit. All the necessary ingredients for weapon uncapping or upgrading.

This grind could have been so much better had they opened it to all of proud instead of just PB.

I’m 120 runs in and I’ve gotten every weapon except my main and it’s killed my motivation to bother since PB is one of the worst fights in the game and it’s just tedious now. The novelty wore off ages ago.

Open it up to other proud fights, give out mats like one every couple of fights to buy it or something, they really implemented this poorly and I’m used to heavy grind in games.

Absolutely unenjoyable.

Terminus weapons are the least of your problem wait till you're in silver centrum draught.

I'm convinced it's supposed to be a time sink and built like an mmo boss to stall for the upcoming content. If they make Terminus obsolete shortly after, I'm gone.

I don't mind it. Around 5 mins per run and once you get a new weapon you have a new character to play with.

Sometimes, I wish we could ascend the crit weapons, or the stun ones. They both are pretty strong until lategame where they're getting put in the shelf for collection bonuses. It would certainly diversify the endgame.

But, the one problem the game has is that damage cap will always be king, so the Terminus weapon wins in almost all cases because of it's special trait (Catastrophe).

And the other non-terminus weapon that we can ascend has some pretty... underwhelming traits.
This is the mode of pretty much every single Japanese game with the exception of dark souls series.

Game will always has a gacha like element, paid or free. You will have to farm for special stuff regardless and it will always be random drop with a crazy low drop rate.

This is to extend the playing time of the players on the game. In older games in the 90s this was a given for most JRPG or action games. It is just tradition. That said, I never like this format for gear farming.

I have already grinded for 4 awakening weapons. It is getting really repetitive and boring at this point. The game is fun, but doing the same things over and over again isn't making it better. Eventually you get bored. The worst part is, I never got a single Terminus weapon despite that for any characters. Wasn't even aware of the existence of Terminus weapon until I ask about damage optimization where one of the responder informed me of it.

Needless to say, I am not thrilled. I hate a bloody grind. But at least, different characters have their different charm. They play sightly differently and that is the only thing that keeps me playing till now.

They could've just made terminus weapons craftable once your defeat Proto Baha with the associated character using endgame drops (Proto Baha mats primarily).

Think a "blueprint system" of sorts so your mains will definitely get their terminus weapons instead of it being like my case where my Zosimos & Gae Bolg were among the last 2 terminus drops....

Least that way if the game keeps dabbing on you with the rng, there's a means of guaranteeing that we get our mains' through sheer effort and not simply luck.

easy solution:

1. it should ONLY drop for the character you're playing.
2. that's basically how you level it up, no thx.

it only takes a solid day of farming to get all the terminus weapons. my friend literally got the one for the character he was maining as the LAST drop.

its stupid that you can have your strongest character farm the endgame item for the entire roster. i mean once you can do it, it's just the 100-200 kill grind.

also, there should be mats to upgrade the terminus weapons that can only be gotten once you have the weapon, like breaking special items off the bosses.

the fight is the easiest fight in proud, and it is almost trivially bottable, it's so predictable.

no it won't. it's not even close to being king for a lot of characters. people playing selfish dps to see big numbers get crushed by a comp of people building stun/sba/combo.

the fastest legit kills of proto bahamut don't use all terminus weapons.

some of the characters that do the lowest damage more than make up for it with stun and combo power. you don't hit max SBA with high damage cap.

for example my sub 4 minute kills happen the most frequently with me in a stun/comb/sba build with rosetta.

the real reason terminus is the endgame wep of choice in general isn't the dmgcap, it's that it's a better version of the ascension weapon w/ sigil booster. both of them have dud stats in hps / regen

I think that this design is stupid, it takes away players from doing other quests because obviously everybody want their terminus as well, leading to non-existent party searching for other things than quick match and proto bahamut.

I know that my comment will fall into deaf ears but I just wanted to share my opinion.

you still have to level it up, which is where farming the rest of proud comes in...

Not to mention when you can SBA in 1 by 1 to keep him stunned, and let your party dps, but ppl just keep chained it ="= hence boring. Could have done each round in less than 4mins though.

the fastest kills are 2 + 2, not 1+1+1+1

use slows/glaciate to maximize dps uptime

stun is more important than dps for the part where he first comes down as fire, if you miss linking/breaking there it adds a minute to the fight.
