Story is solo though so you gotta do that first
might not be a bad idea to wait for discount if money is rough
keep in mind this is not your typical open world anime MMORPG (genshin etc.), ig it's kinda semi-open world? you can explore the town(s) and few dungeons during and after the story, but after the main story is done you'll spend 99% of your time farming quest (usually a boss so you teleport to the boss' chamber)
to max up all currently available characters (build wise), could take solid 800-1.5k hours with current content
some ppl said it's monhun but anime but idk i'm not playing monhun
It took me about an additional 100 hours to beat the final quest in the game (for now). I've still got more I want to do though. I haven't tried all the characters yet and I don't have everything I want for my favorites either.
There are additional bosses and harder versions of who you fight during the story that unlock after you beat the story. Difficulty increases at a steady rate the deeper you go.
Most quests consist of dropping into an area and beating up a boss or horde of monsters.
Besides gathering the materials you need to upgrade your characters you'll also be collecting many types of sigils which offer various offensive, defensive or utility stat boosts for your characters. Sigils can also drop with a random second bonus, which is neat because characters only have so many sigil slots. If you want to min-max your builds then I think you can see the appeal of getting a high rarity sigil with two bonuses that you like.
There's even some rare weapons you can grind for from the final boss of the game if you want.
This game ticks a lot of boxes for me. It's got a good selection of unique characters each with different playstyles, fun diverse boss fights, great combat and interesting loot to tinker with. Overall I think this will be one of the best ARPGs to release this year.
Camera handling is bad.
Lock-on is bad.
Combat is good.
Challenge is good.
Story is good.
which is basically a session-based coop if you don't like people you can grind it with AI companions.
overall the game is great is you like these types of games
The story is serviceable, it’s generic anime.
The characters generally fun.
Visually nice.
Combat is fun, Y’s like.
Depending on your skill level the game is either laughably easy or incredibly hard. Personally being a MH /Y’s vet I found Proud to be pretty easy.
Repetitive boss fights.
Terminus grind locked to one fight.
Very short story, 10 hours max.
Endgame could be better, not bad.
Worth the money overall.
GOTY it is not, but I like it.
It depends on what you’re looking for in a game, I can recommend it but it’s not a deep game combat/gear/skill wise but it’s enjoyable to play.
The story is no where near 35 hours unless you are including chapter 0 or whatever it is but that is more or less post story content just introducing you to the end game grind content.
the actual story is only 10-15 hours with watching all cut-scenes and dialogue.
Full game length wise (Including the end game grind) depending on how much you want to do it could be 50+ hours to a few hundred.
I was around 53 hours in when i had 1 character pretty much finished. Terminus weapon fully awaken + all the sigils I wanted etc.
After that it is more or less just grinding to get the other characters their weapons. that could easily add dozens of hours each.
Do you like the monster hunter gameplay loop? The game is basically monster hunter but with flashy anime style with a party but differently from god eater. The story is fine and simple and visually incredible. And the endgame loop is addicting and fun which you can do solo or coop. Co-op more recommended at harder difficulty. For bang for your buck theres a lot here and its getting content updates
