I'm getting Tales of Arise and Genshin vibes from the demo

The demo for this game was alright. The more I played it, the more I liked it. As a newcomer into the Granblue franchise, this was what I expected

I get Arise and Genshin vibes from everything in this game, and I even get a little bit of Star ocean vibes too but that's just me.

The dub wasn't anything special and the combat grew on me as I played more of it.

Elden Ring? Japan is the current King of the action RPG. Devil may Cry 5? Nier Automata Monster Hunter. The Legend of Zelda.

They are actually the King of the Action RPG genre, and they are all Japanese. If you mean Anime Action RPGs that is different.

I didn't mean RPG that happens to be from Japan and I didn't even mean "anime RPG".

I meant JRPG with action combat. The only game you mentioned that is actually that is Nier Automata, and if you consider that game to be a "King" of the genre, then we are in very deep trouble.

What about Ys 8? Gameplay looks quite similar. Visually this does look very much like arise but I think arise is the best looking tales game, it just had story problems and issues with large enemies. I do think killing smaller enemies in arise was really fun and well handled.

Also DMC is an action game, not action rpg, and legend of zelda is action adventure. Monster hunter and dark souls are action rpgs, but not jrpgs (despite coming from japan, yes the genre lables in gaming are dumb). Nier Automata is jrpg but it's combat is worse than tales of arise so idk why you'd bring that up.

Arise only have one good thing, better tech for visuals

I know my opinion is valid though because I played it all the way through. No guilty conscience here. More of it wouldn't be a bad thing and if I can get an analogue of it in an all-new universe that's a win in my book.

You are right, your personnal preference and mine aren't the same, Arise being the "wrost" is just my opinion

I don't like the new Chara design, they felt bland, didn't like the new skit system and what was told in those skits, the story was disapointing, especially the late game, the combat was less fun than older titles, felt too basic, the post game dungeon was pretty disappointing

PS: I hope the gameplay in Granblue Fantasy Relink will be a little bit better
