Who are the best buffers?
Hello! I just started playing a few days ago and I use mainly the captain because he reminds me of Adol from the Ys JRPG series by Falcom. I also just enjoy being a jack of all trades class so I never get stuck in a situation that I can't adapt to. I've put all my masteries into just him so far so he's absolutely over-powered compared to anyone else, literally double some of their hp and attack almost so I've been through a bunch of his powers and I know he's a jack of all trades with good buffing abilities, usually the main character is, but is there a designated buffer that just specializes in buffing party members? I tried searching on google and it seemed like everyone had a little bit of buffing abilities here and there, but no one specialized in it. The reason I ask questions like these is because I don't want to waste mastery points early on by putting too many into the wrong characters.

Is there a character that I can improvise with though? By that I mean the captain for example. Right now I want him pure dps and one of the AI to do all the buffing, but if I wanted, I could have 3 of his skill slots be buff abilities like Rage, phalanx, and panacea. Effectively making him a designated buffer. Is there anyone else that can do that?

Edit: I'm looking through Rossetta's abilites right now, she looks like she might be able to fill the role. She reminds me of that one plant girl from League of Legends... Zyra was it?

There aren't really dedicated buffers outside of the Captain's huge roster of skills, but I think that's more so that every character brings their own support value, and the boosts you get depend more on your team comp. That being said Tweyen who's expected to come out some time this month will be a dedicated debuffer, they stack a TON of debuffs.

Oh they're actually releasing new characters? How much do they usually charge for the new characters? I haven't looked at any of the DLC yet.

The best buffer is prolly the MC. Not in the sense that their utility is busted, but cuz they can fit any mold you put them in. They have access to every kind of utility in the game. So if you wanna use them as buffer/healer then you can.

Actually never mind. Apparently I'm coming up on the end of the game already so I'm almost done. lmao This game only took about 10 hours over three days to complete start to finish. That was totally not was I expecting, I literally just started getting into it and it's already over.

Seigfried has a nice entire party 70% defense buff and an entire party status immunity buff that comes a drain that's than the one you get from sigils

Yeah, that's really sad to hear that. I might not even finish the game now. I had no idea this is what it was.

tutorial is 10h. you finish the story and then the game starts. you do mission, drop sigils and materials, upgrade your weapons and sigils and craft new one.It takes a lot of quick quests to gear up. Then you go to do bahamut for terminus weapon and further improve your build. When you're done you go to Lucilious fight and farm that.

This isn't the kind of game you think it is.

There are no classes or roles.

Everyone in your party is essentially a dps class.

Some characters do have buffs, but they are utterly useless since this game has a DMG cap.

So if you reach cap (which is super easy to do) you can buff all you want lol...your dmg increase will be 0%

Remember, there is no defense cap... so. Yeah.
