Sigil choices between War Elemental and others.
I know most people will trade damage over other attributes like cool down, perfect dodge and such.

So, I just have a simple question and would love to know how other players make their consideration in Sigil placements.

Would you trade War Elemental for another sigil that does lower damage but offers another perk like. 15 V+ Critical Hit/Quick Cool down, Stamina/Uplift, Quick Link/Crit Damage etc?

How much do you value damage out over other aspect of different perks? Or that because this topic is about War Elemental and it is way too good to not use. It is kinda of a no brainer?

War Elemental is a special Damage Cap (for some missions) in my opinion.:steamfacepalm: I also make other build without it for missions with no element boss.
For Uplift, yes. Something like Aegis+uplift or Linked together + uplift. Don't remember if the latter is even possible tho.

i always use war elemental, also i try to avoid having blue, red or purple sigils (except the character one) as a "Main" type, additional values i look for are uplift, quick cooldown and cascade, improved dodge and aegis arent bad to have either.

Like Little_Five mentioned, it's really good for being a higher damage cap against everything with an elemental weakness. However if you absolutely needed to squeeze in Uplift or something else and are already maxed on sigils, I don't see the harm in removing it. You'd just lose the 20% damage bonus (or whatever it is) on every boss your element doesn't match, and some characters have multi-element skills anyway.

its funny because you still do extra 20% dmg even to bosses that dont have a weakness, for example

Zeta vs Furycane nihili + war elemental = 150k dmg per normal attack
Zeta vs Furycane nihili no war elemental = 135k dmg per normal attack

So for whatever reason it works on bosses that have no weakness aswell so imo its always worth to have it on.

Replace when no weakness or the boss is already weak to that character's element.
If it has a DPS check that is hard to clear during solo, most of the time, stun/ link together is replacement sigils.
Like the last 10% HP of pyet-A if solo with Eugen, damage is just enough even with link time. If don't use link time, I really cannot clear using other method. If it has an element, it means it will have regen/ def up which regen is always the priority of buff removal. Below 20%, the gauge which the crystals gets absorb is accelerated and not enough time to destroy more than 2 crystals using Sumrak to hit both.
For that particular stage, those lower DPS character can replace war elemental. If Vaseraga, Percival, Rackam, this stage isn't too difficult to solo.
Ok I see, so it depends on your preference in your own build and at the same time what boss and character with the right elemental you are using. Good to know. This has been most informative.
Bartie Musa - At least you've got war elemental 0/1000+ I swear it is a myth.

I think it is a myth. Never seen it in any videos or in my game. War elemental V+ could only exist if they have it in the next series of updates though. Who knows.

After testing much... I do find war elemental is hard to pass up for something else. But this could also depends on your characters. I also find changing sigils for specific boss a hassle. I just want to bash some monster brains and feel good about it at the end of the day.

I make builds with war elemental on elemental bosses and without on non elemental bosses. Usually slotting in something like stun power + a useful other sigil or something else that i might need. I also make a NPC focused build for the ai kinda similar (usually with more support abilities)

yeah people either forget about this or just don't know it. War elemental never comes off my build

It's because instead of "exploit elemental weakness", it actually just gives elemental damage bonus regardless of the enemy's element. It's just unintuitive which is why people tend to forget this (or not even expect it at all.) It also doesn't help that the numbers aren't golden when hitting a plain target.

Instead of "find target weakness and apply weakness damage bonus" it's just "apply weakness damage bonus"
