Farming for Parts. The stupidity of the current mechanics.

Ok, this game is really fund, Stupidly crazy grind fest but still fun because each characters is different and with a mix and match of different sigils synergy. You can actually come up with some really good combinations for specific characters. For example, max damage output is the current go to meta. But if you try berserk, combined with aegis and drain. You can create
a tank that cannot be killed even if he is hit by most attack but the strongest from the boss. Very satisfying. But it only works for character with fast multi attacks.

Now here is the MAIN TOPIC of this thread. Farming for parts is stupid as of now. Some drops quite easily others don't. The worst of these two which I have discovered is the Tai yut head unit and the dreaded tail.

First lets talk about the dreaded tail. I spent 30 over games to farm one stupid dreaded tail, hitting it with a stun build and get nothing! Why is that you ask? Because my end game damage with Terminus weapon is too strong! ROFLMAO I have to remove all my damage enhancing sigils to delicately chip the stupid dreaded tail off the arse of salamander boss. Imagine that? Full stun build can't break the part because my damage is too high! Took me 30 over games to find out this stupid problem and farm it consistently by removing by damage enhancing sigils.... the fuc....

Now here is the second part that is a pain to farm. The Tai yut head unit. This one is easier after you figure out how to farm it fast and consistently. But before that, I have to check youtube for solutions. One solutions was the same as the same the one for the dreaded tail, you remove the damage enhancing sigils and break it slowly for each legs when it opens up the glowing LEDs lol. Then you jump on top of the stupid machine to break the exposed head, once you do that, you quit the game and you get the stupid head unit. As shown in the video below.

The thing is, I discovered a faster method with four AI. Just beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of the boss till it open up the lights on the legs. once that happened. For some strange reason, breaking one lights somehow breaks all lights on each leg. Once the boss is dead. It will drop the stupid head unit.

My goodness, what kind of stupid mechanic is this? I tried AFK farming. These two parts doesn't drop much. I have to manually farm then, spend stupidly long hours to figure sheet out. The craziness of the logic of this game is maddening. Why am I punished for doing end game max damage when farming parts?!

I hope the developers can fix this dumb mechanic.

- Play as Cagliostro with around 150 stun.

- Beat the boss till Overdrive "mode" bar reach 40%~50%, then wait till it's legs expose purple stuffs.

- Spam Cag's Combo B while positioned underneath the boss.

That is what I discover too. But before that, I was breaking one crab leg one at a time. It was so stupid. There is now words to describe the actual experience. But I did not use Cagliostro or remove all 3 AI partners. I just smack the ♥♥♥♥ out of it. It open up it legs, no pun intended. After that, break one lights breaks all the lights. And you get the stupid head unit.

You mentioned on the other thread that you are having a hard time getting Dreaded tail since your dps is too strong and Taiyutar is easier.

Cant remember who or where was the link but as of patch 1.05, chest have a chance of dropping the breakable parts even if you don't break them. From my experience and this is very apparent especially with Pyet A, you get increase chances of getting that part by breaking it. Like for example, you break Pyet A's tail, and receive mirage munition, the chest at the end will have a higher chance to drop Lunary cell compared to if you did not break it.

I suggest just do it quick since again in my experience, only Pyet A's Lunary cell is hard to get without breaking its tail.

It always can be drop in pc ver.
The 1.05 changes is on the console ver, that it wont drop as quest box previously.

It can't pre 1.05 on pc. I always manually upgraded my sigils so I know for a fact that the head was not dropping if you did not break its head since I was doing that pre v1.05

It does drop on PC atleast pre 1.05. I can confirm it drops from the boxes for me. Same experience with my friends.

I see probably just RNG and I decided to break its head.

If want to manual fast farm + break head unit the best one probably Eugen, also dont need to limit the dmg (or only little bit).
Eugen + Id Ai + another 2 Ai

Round start 3 stick grenade + charge shot, dont press link atk
Run to the back and stick on both leg
Id dragon form slow skill mostly will happen on here
Run to front stick another and shoot, and stick and shoot the last leg
Head unit expose then just destroy and kill it.

By the way, is there a way to farm Proto Bahamut horns better? As of now. I am farming it with randoms and not all of them hit it's head for the horn. Probably still trying to get Terminus weapons for their characters. I did made a full stun build to try it, at least on my own to hit the horns. It doesn't seems to work at all.

Any better suggestions?

The character I have the best luck breaking parts with is Percival. Max stun power makes him easily break everything, even Pyet's tail in a few skills and a couple charged attacks.

But yes, when I needed Tayu heads I had to swap from my terminus to the stun weapon.

The really annoying thing is when you break Pyet's tail and get a mirage munition for the 60th time. Game plz I DON'T needs anymore of those. Cells are the only thing I never have enough of.

Go solo. Try and get stun close to max. Let bahamut go to 50%hp naturally (don't CC lock him under 50% before he changes into his final green form) After you can finally hit his head, immediately CC lock + SBA chain him. Should be the fastest method outside of multiplayer.
