Online Matching Making still not working

Online Matching Making still not working for me. I am very disappointed with this game. I suspect could be inactivity. Nobody play and game is dead. Please help!

Random matchmaking is not dead. I've been finding matches in shuffle mode, and early to mid proud difficulty with Tokyo Japan as the Steam Download Region setting. It does take a little longer than before.

What mission difficulty are you searching for? That can be a huge factor in whether you are finding other players or not,

It's pretty quest dependent. If you're not doing the quests people typically farm for refinium,
centrums, or terminus weapon mats, getting a match doesn't happen that much. I've been getting matches for Pyet, Nilhila bosses and the proud fire dragon pretty consistently.

Quick quest and matchmaking don't work for me after the latest update (the rate of successful matchmaking is 1/10) At least search for session function still works fine...

ya what ever they did the match making hardly works its a 50/50 coin flip now and its very annoying i just want to play with others and have a fun time i did not pay 60$ to only play half the game lol

but you do realize that this kind or region lock is not related to the game itself but rather how steam handles regions worldwide? this is why you can still play with players outside of your own region when you switch steam download region as then your connection is established with the other region server which is why you can P2P. if granblue itself had region lock this would not be possible and you would get an error message instead. its not the fault of granblue as steam region lock counts for every game ever released on steam. as long as cygames doesnt provide a dedicated server for worldwide players i hardly believe that you will be able to play with people outside of your current selected region over P2P in steam as steam itself forbids that.

You're mistaken. When it comes to matchmaking region locking is up to the game not Steam. Games can access a user's Steam download location when implementing their region locking but that is the choice of the game developers. If you don't believe me please find an official steam post that states your claim.

this would only be the case if there would be a dedicated server for connection but granblues matchmaking works over P2P. steam itself decides over which server you are connected to (your download region) and all servers have different connection which is why you have to restart steam once you change your download region. cygames decided to use the steam api to decide for matchmaking as current players download region selected in steam which means the region lock is not over the game itself but over steam region server just as i said earlier. ofc cygames could change that and they might in the future but that doesnt change the fact that granblue itself doesnt have region lock as then you would not be able to just change your download region in steam and then play with other regions.

It's a bug that they should be aware of. Steam does not have any region options in the game, likely because it was never meant to have any.

The problem is they ended up taking the Download Server as the player's region through Steam API leading to this problem.

The fix is honestly easy and I'm fully expecting them to fix it because they should be well-aware it's an oversight in their entire design of their implementation of the multiplayer on Steam.

For now, for people who are not getting anyone to match, just switch your download server in Steam (Steam Settings > Download > Download region) to Japan - Tokyo since that's where you can get 10s matchmaking.

Note that this is your Steam's download region, not your Store Region. You're literally just changing where you download primarily from Steam's CDN. You can change it back to your local region any time you want without any limits.
