Good game to start with the franchise?

Never played Granblue anything. Is this a solid game to start with? Will I miss out on tons of lore and other references cause I've never played any other Granblue game?

Ooh yeah absolutely. Game is great, and very approachable.

I think a good introduction to the lore is to watch the Granblue anime:

Granblue Fantasy: The Animation Season 1-2

You get a bit of background story and then you don't care so much about the characters anymore and you understand a bit better why they act the way they do.

But it's more for people who like that sort of thing.

Anyway, I did it that way and can understand a bit better what it's actually about.

This game functions fine as a standalone game.

Game introduces you to enough of it via Fate Episodes, but you can play it knowing nothing about Granblue and be just fine (that's me)

if u want a headstart might want to watch episode 1-2 only but other than that u wont miss much.
