I've gotten two at iv from appraise, are they really that good? What's the damage number from them? Are they a way to supercede damage cap by basically being a 2nd damage number? I play ferry and when I use her buff that gives sup damage it doesn't really seem to add damage, and I assume it is because I am at damage cap and it is just an added number.

It adds a secondary damage to the attack that isn't bound by the damage cap of the normal hit. It's does roughly 20% extra damage of the hit you did when it goes off in it's own separate damage numbers. Even with a tier V, it's only a 40% chance for the 2nd hit to go off so a 40% chance to do 20% extra damage a hit is like a 8-10% damage increase when all things are said and done.
