Why is this game so popular compare to others in the same genre?
I am asking this question, because I have play plenty of Musou games in the past and put hundreds of hours into them here on Steam and Nintendo Switch, and they are remarkably similar, and none of those games have this level of attention from what I know.

I have never seen a game like this so well liked that is even on Steam's top chart of most played games. So I just wanted to know why people like more this game than the others in the same genre?

Its not really a musou, its more of its own thing, somewhat monster hunter esque action rpg. It popularity comes from its ip. Granblue is a massive franchise in japan and is growing pretty swiftly in the states

because its beautify anime musou game. heck switching character is mirror gameplay to warrior orochi game. this game is good if it have customization but nah because it's a lot economical and less effort with switching character 'system' ala gensin and decades old musou orochi instead of making proper customization. i want my old djeeta customization classes and costume back

OP's probably main charlotta-Invincible and haven't reached proud mode yet.

I'm kinda glad it just blows up, I thought it was gonna failed.

Hopefully this convinces Bamco to make more Tales of game and Scarlet Nexus 2.

Meh. Wouldnt count on that. Bamco is busy producing licenced low budget anime garbage games trying to milk fans of the animes just as usual. The only thing that gets budget is dragonball and these games also mostly suck.

Couldnt even finish xenoverse 2 and kakarot :zote:

I swear if they fk up sparkling zero I blow up.

The story is really good with cute characters and amazing, Japanese voice actors.

And also really good music. Any other games you can recommend similar to this? Waiting for a sale to play coop as my friends won’t pay full price. Mainly looking for fun gameplay and cute characters (that’s a full game, not a gatcha).

That's such a wrong statement that it deserves to be ridiculed until you say sorry

It continues the story of the anime. You can see most of those crewmate card chars in the last episode of season 1. The game links the anime smoothly. If they made this ARPG years ago instead of a fighting game, they would have become succeeded sooner. Fighting games I think are dead ever since street arcade machines go history. They are not fun playing on consoles even if using a fighting joy stick. Too light. Simply because arcade machines were heavy and players could put full force on those joy sticks to release stress on the game. That's why you could see a lot of broken joy sticks on those machines in the past.

Tales of berseria is another good one and one of my fav games of all time. It's a bit older than arise so you should be able to find it cheaper as well.
The new SAO games are fine as well, and you have plenty of cute characters to choose from

Wait, how does this game play anything like a musou? It is an action game with characters to choose from, and that's like... it?

Half of the players are from Japan.

Gran blue is super popular there lol
Degalon Feb 10, 2024 @ 2:39pm
Its not a musou, its more like a Devil may Cry game with rpg elements and a full party.

But 1) The fighting game garnered a lot of hype for the series.

and 2) The game is just jaw dropping GORGEOUS. I'm talking peak final fantasy beautiful visuals.

This game is like Dragon Nest but cut down version, if you've played DN before and you like it than you'll like this game too. In terms of graphics, sure GBFR is far better since DN is like earliest best hack-n-slah mmorpg back in 2010 and still alive till this day, but for the rich content and game play, DN is still better.
