Roll of the Die sigil explained + data

I just analyzed a couple thousand attacks of Roll of the Die because reasons.

Here's the deal:

first of all it only works on normal attacks so the customizable abilities aren't touched by it, and depending on the character it might or might not impact both left+right click (primary+unique). Rosetta's right click doesn't get impacted/roses don't.

The conversion to 1 damage happens after the crit check. So you see 1 and 1!!.

here were my end stats that obviously have a +/- due to small sample size.

46% of the time, it is 1 damage
27% of the time, it is 1x damage
16% of the time, it is 2x damage
10% of the time, it is 3x damage
1% of the time, 4x damage

The worst streak I had without a 4x was 251 attacks. The best was 7.

I stripped off all my gear except damage cap, and did a ton of 1 minute tests by just spamming primary attack.

The variance with roll of the die on was 568-892 total damage after a minute.
Without roll of the die, it was a consistent 925 total damage.

My base attack here was around 7k. The 892k damage had a 4x in there.

So, overall impression is if you are not at damage cap it is not worth it.

The left click spammers will see the most overall dps gain, assuming the numbers are 50% 1 and 49 1-3x 1% 4x. Those 4xes will be massive, everything 1-3x will be at your damage cap.

The game is focused on damage windows, and this will severely cripple your window damage with normal attacks (cutting it in half). However if you're a relatively fast attacker and not worrying about windows, it is a gain.

I ran an assault with it on, at damage cap, and it was far slower / fewer kills, and in the entire assault I saw 3 4x rolls.

I see this sigil as a challenge sigil. Sooner or later there'll be proud runs with Vaseraga and this sigil for the memes.
