you can confirm this by doing lower level content and your crits are the same damage as your non-crits because of damage cap, and you will notice you're capped when you see no "randomness" to your attacks, and they tend to/always end in 999 like 24,999 etc. it means you're getting capped.
supp damage is a proc, so that is always a damage boost because it functions like an extra hit.
cap depends on the ability, some have lower cap than others that are almost impossible to cap.
cap gets weird in early proud because armor will make cap useless, but once you start getting a ton of attack (like 20k+) you easily hit cap again.
TLDR: the end "stat build" for maximum damage always involves maxed damage cap and supplemental damage. crits don't push past cap, other dmg increasers don't like exploiter. dmg cap is based on the skill you press being limited dmgwise
Another question that maybe you know, I main Percival, any idea what damage type his charged attacks fall under, would it be normal attacks? so I could go for normal damage cap in over mastery?
for percival this works for "attack" as well as pressing schlact or charging schlact. so all three of those are normal attacks (at least for purpose of the sigil). i think what they were going for with that overmastery is that it doesn't apply to the customizable abilities. i really wish they'd make symbols or show tags on abilities.
For lancelot this applies to both the left click + right click / default abilities you can't change (not the 1-4 / choosable ones).
for rosetta the left click triggers this sigil but since right click places a rose it doesn't count, nor does the combo followup for right clicking.
