New enemies don't really exist so if you don't like the fights in the story....it isn't going to get better. I think of it as more like DIablo II, where the post game is just a whole lot of grinding to test builds and try for the best possible result in fights.
besides, the real fun begins after you beat the story like in monster hunter
The first chapters are a little bit shorter than the other ones
What they are wrong about is the game's length. The story is just the tutorial, and the post-story content is the rest, which will easily take several times longer to complete.
it's a great endgame with a couple wonky mechanics but i think totally worth getting thru the story for..
Deduction isn't used seriously in anything except Sherlock Holmes books. I experienced this worry too, noticing I was already on Ch4 so quickly and alarmed by the game reportedly having only 10 chapters. But as it turns out, those early chapters are just shorties. The chapters after 4 are all fairly long and they get longer. The last two chapters are absurdly long. Even after clearing them, the endgame is mega ultra long and all the RNG lootbox farming makes it even longer. Then there's the meta being damage caps and war elemental and supplementary damage and terminus weapons which require tyranny and you get an endgame where every build is basically the same, which means you're rolling constant useless sigils hoping for the 1% drop you actually need that is worth something.
