I will say not trying out all the characters and only playing with 1 single meta build you find online is what shorten the experience alot.
Story is give or take 20 hours, then you unlock a whole lot of endgame content which takes much much more to complete and unlock everything.
Its like monster hunter where the story ends after 15ish hours but then all other content unlocks for you to play.
Anything planned to expand on the game yet ? otherwise I'm refunding!
Post-story content (chapter 0) most likely would only take slightly a bit shorter same time as clearing the story since post-story content practically is looping back the story mode except without the walking scenes and just the bosses. At least up to first Proud difficulty mission.
Then you will encounter some more new quests until clearing the final unlocked quest which is The Tale of Rage Bahamut (Proto Bahamut boss, drops Terminus weapon). Probably only took a day or 2.
Once you reach this point, what left is self-challenge content; completing collection and trophies, reach the best build, perfect or solo clearing quests. The length depends on your skill, RNG luck and how far you wanted to reach. Could be none or could take more than hundreds of hours playing and still not completed.
