How good is the story mode?
I waited for years, the game is different to what i expected, the ps5 demo didn't wow me but i'm hearing positive things. i'm not really interested in the grinding aspect but how good is the story mode?

It's a nice tutorial, story mode. Post-game is where the game opens up to the meat of it all.

From what I saw though the meat was just small arenas fighting the same enemies?

Pretty linear and by-the-numbers. Definitely the weakest part of the game. General running around and exploring was enjoyable enough. The locales are beautiful, as were many set pieces. But I did not care for the story at all; thought it was the dumbest thing I've seen in any game ever.

Fortunately, the story isn't that long. The game's main draw is definitely the combat, grinding, and upgrading in the post-game. I just want to keep trying new things, and get stronger and stronger.

Compared to MH world or Rise its very long, took me like 8-10 hours on hard, action is solid, fights are fun, story itself is okay, translation made it meh

Yea and i'm not a huge fan of monhun at all, but then it's the slow repetitive nature that i don't like at least the combat is fast here.

Im having a blast dude and minus the first 2-3 chapters (they kinda like tutorial) everything else was great. I am post-game now and im not sure why everyone is saying the grind, like its there yeah but the game gives you literally every single tool to get around it. As I type this message out to you right now, my party is clearing a extreme level boss so I can get the mats, you can literally set it to autoplay the grind aspect while you watch an anime episode or something.

Plus the actual really cool raid like bosses you CANNOT autoplay so you cant even fake your achievements. It helps you "grind" and thats it. I went from lvl 60 to 95 in like 45 minutes, that is not a grind at all.

This is the most high-quality game of its genre besides Persona, which is a different play style anyway. Not sure if that's even a relevant comparison. The multiplayer is what 100% sold me.

Ye i'm more an SP man but i'm very tempted now, was just hoping for a cheaper key than the £50 steam price

The price is reasonable compared to $70 persona 3 reloaded or suicide squad but you can wait for winter sale for -30%

Story is pretty short for rpg game tho, about 10-15 hours. And seem like you don't want to grind a end game content

Yeah, from what I'm reading, I think the $60 price would be a bit much if you're only here for the story. Picking it up on a good sale would be advisable.

But if you're willing to engage with the post-game content, I think there's enough to justify the price.

Yea the endgame just does not seem interesting, but then the other guy made the raid bosses and stuff sound very cool. I may bite

If you are looking at it, as a regular GBF player, the game is essentially a scenario event like in the mainstay game. It's fun, I enjoyed it.

The gameplay is great despite it being repetitive. The story is absolute garbage though.
