Yes

Yup. The AI partners work pretty good if you set them up right. I haven't done any post game difficulty yet but it's been fine on hard

Solo player end game = grind hell

The AI has no troubles with Proud Difficulty content at all

It is. I am doing solo before even trying co-op. Better to be prepared with the basics then sorry. So far 1 of the best games i have ever played. I haven't felt this nostalgic feeling since the early 90s with gaming. I can tell they put alot of love and care and effort for this game. Sure it took 7 years to make it. But it was worth it to polish it to almost perfection. Dont forget the endgame content is also 100 hours+. I do hope you and everyone will enjoy it to its fullest :)

The AI only struggles with mobbing content because they will naturally not split up like a player would. But there are options to modify when they use ultimate(SBA) and it should be fine when you run into a snag for quests like that. To play questing with AI you just set closed party, and let's say you had a friend with you, they will fill all the empty slots with the party you chose. Alone it's business as usual as long as you do this.

Yeah it's fine but you'll have to grind a lot more to make your allies useful, in co-op you'd only have to worry about one character.

I'm playing mostly solo as well but I don't mind it since I was planning on upgrading multiple characters anyway

yea,i would say too that it works in singple player pretty good. the AI is not dumb and actually heals if needed (when possible) and revives party members aswell and dodges and blocks (even perfect dodging and blocking) good aswell. it might go weird on extreme difficulties but ya could just play healer on your own and have passive healers which have more offense in the team, so they can keep (if needed) the group up aswell.

Next question: Does coop need players to join your server or does it have a dedicated server for auto finding other players trying to do the same quest?

Edit: Nevermind, just watched Arrekz and there is matchmaking, NICE!!!

The AI party members are the gods of dodging, stupidity and inefficiency.

1. If they have perfect dodge, they would perfect dodge 90% of the time. And proceed to keep dodging follow up attacks as though their perfect dodge didn't give them temp invincibility

2. They aren't the best at their character mechanics. Or efficiency in general. If you set their limit breaks to auto, watch them limit break one half dead peon. And if you don't, they will only limit break bosses after you.

3. Nor are they the best at gimmicks. So if there is a gimmick mission like "defeat 4 enemies with thrown items" you can be sure that they would beat up all the enemies before you could even throw anything. If there is a gimmick that says "Blighted floor, do not step". They will step, take damage, and slowly die.

Game is still fun solo though. At least until you complete the story, then its... significantly grindier.

How do I go about setting up a match with just AI. I hate waiting for the queue

Choose the Closed option

The AI can actually be more effective than players because while players have to run Potion Hoarder, Improved Dodge, Guts, and Autorevive, the AI can run pure damage or support. They do almost predictive healing, they spam their buffs when they're off cooldown, and they will almost never need a revive.

Seeing a player at 10% HP = Panic
Seeing an AI at 10% HP = Chill

I know what that AI has and set them up to not only survive at low hp, but live there and pump damage because of it.
