Charlotta: DPS - Breaker
Went with Charlotta for my first character unlock since I wanted someone more forgiving to learn the game with. She's honestly pretty fun. Having a gap-closer you can use whenever you want is convienent.
I have two more cards but I have no idea who else to pick. Everyone seems like fun. I like parry moves so maybe Zeta, Narmaya or Yodarha? Siegfried or Vane also seem cool too though.
As a result, I gotta default to Narmaya. The default waifu if you will.
(might check out Zeta much later on)
hopefully they plan on bringing updates that add even more contents for endgame, i'll not mind pay dlc for extensions/characters etc aslong as it is worth it
This also might be the best action jrpg i've ever played in my life
Relink's combat is a little more uneven in places, and I do wish it allowed us to switch party members on the fly in single player, but on the flip side it absolutely dunks on Ys in terms of production values. Regardless, aRPG fans have been eating well these past few years.
Io > Id > Cagliostro > Parzival

Percival is my MVP in the gacha and was the first optional character I used a card to acquire in Relink, but I haven't spent much time with him yet and haven't unlocked any of his talents/abilities. He had a good character design and the Dragon Knights events made me respect him when he took a beating but didn't squeak.
I'm playing Lancelot, he is extremely agile and I like his Y / Square button, dashing in, out or sides while dealing damage and also procing perfect dash, it's such a way of zoom-zooming the area and doing all the dirty things you can think of with enemies.
I also use his 2 buffs for Mirror Image, which is one of the juiciest things that enables me DPSing through nasty stuff all the way, and of course supplement damage buff on top of it.
He is simple to focus on the job, while also agile to take off whenever it gets a bit too hot.
Zoom-zoom-zoom all the way, I'm sure there are other characters I'm gonna try later, but Lancer works fine with me, as his DPS isn't locked by some combo accumulation mechanics, so less dependencies and pure sustained DPS.
High octane APM~
