Wanna wait for the story chapters to roll out over 6 months? That's what you get from live service.
Wanna wait for new endgame quests to roll out over another 6 months? That's what you get from live service.
Wanna get one free character every 3 months? That's what you get from gatcha.
Wanna pay hundreds of dollars to max out a single character? That's what you get from gatcha.
When you say you want something to be a gatcha live service those are the kinds of things you're inviting. You REALLY want them to slow down the ENTIRE game? Do you REALLY want them to sell faster access to ALL the characters?
You're nuts if you think that BS would improve this game. I like gatcha games somewhat but after playing them for years I'd REALLY rather just be able to pay one price and have everything.
Gacha games do not have paid expansions and you can play the content for free. You might not be able to handle the currently released content without paying to win, but eventually you can. Some gachas like Genshin Impact even allow you to keep up with the whales in terms of clearing the newest content as long as you understand how to build an effective team.
Listen, they made their money, they can fund another project now, grow the brand, drop more remakes by copying the formula they used here (likely at an accelerated rate now), sellout high and retire rich, fat, and young to their Okinawa beach mansions and have Hitomi Tanaka applying their suncreams.
That was precisely their pitch though, DLCs and title updates down the line, exactly like Monster Hunter, which ISN'T a live service game.
EXACTLY!
