Here are some things you might want to know about GBF:Relink
After playing for a while on console and nearly getting Djeeta to level 100(93, atm), these are some of the things I would have like to know earlier.

1. You can replay the main story, but you have to complete the campaign first. You will get an option at the quest giver to replay chapters. This allows you to be completionist if you like and get all the things you missed. However, the mobs do not scale to your level. So if you come back at level 50 and replay chapter 1 you will one-shot everything and pretty much the bosses as well.

If you want to experience the story campaign properly it seems you will have to start a new game so you won't be overleveled.

2. Quests unlock progressively like Monster Hunter: World. Side quests so far, unless it changes at extreme max endgame, are a one-off. Once you do them...then you cannot do them again. Sidequests offer a lot of mastery points. It is one of your best ways to level up your stats and that is by completing this quests.

3. Save the exp books you get for the characters you unlock to catch them up to your main character. By using a few of these books you can jumpstart a level 40 unlock to level 60-70 very quickly.

4. Quick quests at the quest giver give Silver badges that are used at the exchange merchant to get exp books and upgrade materials. Once first time completion of quests are done this the only real way that I have noticed that allows you to farm for exp books to level up the other characters that you don't actively play.

5. You will be spending a LOT of time re-running the same quests over and over -- particularly for upgrade materials. There is no other way to get them. This is the big portion of the "endgame" experience. So if you really like the combat, which I do, this really isn't an issue.

6. Do not underestimate sigils and leveling up your weapons. Upgrading sigils and leveling up your weapons are the primary way to get character power to do harder quests.

7. Don't skimp out on doing the secondary quest objections during a quest -- they give lots of needed upgrade materials.

That's all I can think of. If you can think of anything else to add then by all means.

thanks this seems like useful advice especially the exp books part

And yeah I don't mind grinding the same content at all as long as the combat is good, monster hunter is pretty much the same with fighting the same monster over and over for materials.

From videos I've seen, there is an "Ultimate Difficulty" for story quests that does scale everything up to end game levels.

sounds similar to genshin

I know there is a "proud" difficulty that is past maniac, iirc. I am on extreme, atm, but if what you say is true then I absolutely look forward to it. I loved the campaign.

If you replay the previous chapters do the story cutscenes replay as well?
CFC_Trunks Jan 31, 2024 @ 7:59pm
can you run though the story online or is it like sword-art where its single player

Replaying the story is literally replaying each chapter as if you started a new game. The only difference is if you quit to go back to town then you quit the chapter.

You can specify at the quest giver which portion of each particular chapter you want to experience. So you can keep replaying the story pieces you like as much as you want.

New information; the story really is 20h or more because it technically doesn't stop giving you main quests until after you finish the last quest which takes place after having done a lot of other quests that require 7000+ power.

Once you do that once you eventually unlock three more difficulty modes; maniac which is after extreme and then proud difficulty which is after maniac. You then unlock "Ultimate" mode which is a setting that you change at the options at the main menu.

This scales every monster to your current level. So...basically functions as NG+. You go choose your chapter you want to replay at the quest giver, even starting from the start if you like. You have all your current gear, stats and weapons at their power level, but scaled to you so you won't one-shot everything. The chapter 1 wolves are level 94 to my level 99. All the treasure chests and stuff you did on previous run-through are still already opened, but it won't be a cake-walk to replay the story anymore(I love this).

and also, i would advise unlocking the last difficulty before going for completionist on campaign as it let you replay campaign with new loots.
