People keep making threads without putting this information in the OP, leaving it buried in arguments and making it difficult to find, while others downplay how much was censored. So here:

These are the same designs except the originals are less covered up and the Relink versions are more covered up. Granblue Versus and Rising had the same censored costumes, except those games also had the original, uncensored costumes included, for free, so the players could use them if they so wished. As far as I know, Relink does not provide the uncensored outfits at all. So yes, this is just plain censorship this time.
Relink has the same age ratings as the Versus games by the way, so no one gets to blame CERO or PEGI or anyone else for this one.

This isn't necessarily everything that was censored, as the edits should make clear, these are just things that we definitely know are censored so far. On the other hand, Lyria and some town NPCs are not censored and the player can look up their skirts to see underwear at any time.

They didn't think it looked better, the execs made them do it against their will for foreign markets and unfortunately they weren't allowed to put the uncensored version in Relink for whatever reason.

yeah if that game doesn't get tampered with before release its looking to be a game worthy of buying the deluxe edition for, especially now after not having to buy P3 reload or like a dragon this month

im aware, i literally just got banned the day before in my own thread ( the big localization one) for calling someone dumb in relation/context to them not having the correct information and deliberately spreading false information multiple times.

there was literally no other nicer word to use in the situation and i still got banned for harassment over the word "dumb".

Like I look at the comparisons between screenshots of original designs and these ones and I literally do not see what the problem is. Djeeta is wearing black leather shorts instead of tight pink panties (she's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 15) Ferry is wearing black loose-fitting boxers instead of black panties. Zeta is wearing embroidered shorts that barely come down to her thighs instead of a subligar. I literally can't see what the problem is supposed to be with Narmaya, she looks spot on, Cagliostro is wearing ass-crack-tight black shorts instead of ass-crack-tight grey panties.

What is the problem here? That they have different underwear on?

Would this be reverse "censorship" if somebody thinks shorts and boxers are hotter than panties?

its not what the characters were originally designed as (even relink itself shows that the were gonna go with the original designs just by looking at the ingame artwork)

It wouldn't matter what or how little the censorship was, that is what the game is. By removing that and the correct translations for the whole game, i am now judging a different product then the one that was intended for sale and made by the devs.

The game if it is going to fail or be judge for having a ♥♥♥♥ story/characters, or lame designs, should be done so under the presumption this is what they made and wanted you to get.

5 minutes listening to the JP voice lines and the translation is already not what the devs wrote ( this continues for the whole game btw), then you open the pause menu and see character designs different to the models in the game for their Portrait and character cut-ins.

All we wanted was the game as it was meant to be experienced... which sadly is not the case.

The only saving grace you have is decent game play by the time you get to end game and if you know enough JP spoken language you can probably get by just listening to the voices and get a gist of the original characters/interactions.

I should not have to go out of my way just to experience the original game when all the dialogue and character models exist.
