Steam PC edition, normal or special
Hi all, is the special edition worth the additional 20 dollars ? =)

I’m genuinely unsure if a special edition even exists for pc but if it does, no. You get 3 colors for every character. That’s about it.

In my opinion.... no. Not worth it. $20 for a sword and 2 color packs (these are color packs 7 and 8 not the advertised 2 and 3 because you unlock 6 color packs over the course of playing the game)

I'd say the game is worth 45 usd max on PC.
Would not pay a cent more.

honestly probably not. Every time I get a stupid special edition with some kind cosmetic unlock, I end up never using the cosmetic unlock because it "feels" less valuable then something I earned in game lol. Or I end up seeing so many others using it or something. BUT "value" is personal preference - as many would argue having any videogame at all is not "worth" it :P so the choice is yours lol

Nah, you can get all that stuff really early into the game.
It might give you a really small boost so the first few missions are easier but generally it's just not worth the $20 extra.

I don't know about the sword but the sword is for Djeeta/Gran only and with the massive cast of far more fun characters in the game.... I feel that sword would just be a FOMO item more than anything.

Sword of Apocalypse and the starter pack is for people who want to breeze through the story and go to end game content ASAP. Color pack is nice. There is transmog for weapons in this game so pre special edition is the only way to get that skin btw.

I watched this video last night that breaks down the in-game items from the versions. Give it a watch and judge for yourself.

Real shame about the sword tho as that is something I wanted but not anymore.

Nag, they said in one of the preview videos that the pre-order weapon is just a weaker weapon that you normally get later on in the game. It's the same skin.

The sword is already level 50. Which is max for any weapon, can’t upgrade anymore. Definitely not the weaker version.

That's not correct, while the False Sword is level 50 and cannot be upgraded any further, weapons in the game can be upgraded to 100 or 150 I believe. So while the False Sword is only great for a few hours (maybe 3 to 4), that's it. It gets replaced really quickly. And IMO not worth it just for transmog.

I haven’t hit level 50 or my weapons so I figured it was cap. The sword being listed under “bonus weapons” and not under “weapons” when selecting also indicates it won’t be in game unlock imo. Only upgraded edition.
