When will this game be sold on Steam?
For PC, playing is still far away as I am not sure when the game is going to be sold so we can pre-order, pre-load, and then wait. Maybe I missed something here. Are we going to see purchase option on release date?

That is not entirely true. On Steam you can still pre-order games and also pre-load, all of this prior to the release date. What rock have you been living under? This is a legitimate question by the way.

games you can pre-order and pre-load are not games that only become available on release day are they? your the one under a rock if you have never encountered this extremely common occurrence

I am talking about this specific game. While I can understand PS5 has a different exclusivity, why are PC players not even able to purchase this game yet? Is there an ETA or the ETA is release day? I understand the point you made above, my question is "Why" for this game.

They did this with Granblue Rising. It will be made available to buy on release day. No one knows why

because the publisher chose to do so. there is nothing further than that. same reason games allow pre-purchase. the publisher chose to let that happen. the most logical answer is that this is somehow part of the exclusivity deal they made with sony.

Well the developers for this game in particular signed an exclusivity agreement with SONY to provide PS ponies with exclusive amenities (Demo - Cosmetics - EA - etc.) - I imagine amidst all of this, SONY also told them not to give PC players the option to buy early (because if they did, they'd be locked in for PC - away from PS - which is a big no-no)

Mind you this is more for those who have both a PS4-5 AND a PC. If given the chance to pre-order, many of them might forgo the PS version of the game - by preventing them from pre-purchasing, they're pressured into buying on console or waiting last minute for access - or worse, they buckle and buy two copies of the same game.

Considering gamers in general are an impatient bunch, it's a sound business strategy, albeit shady, and manipulative, but that's SONY for you.

It's the exact same reason why there is no PC demo, they want to attract as many players on PS and veer away from us PC plebs.

Better question is what rock 🪨 you are under cause not every game has preorders available. Some like this will launch… when it launches. You cannot tell me you never seen a game not have preorders before.

Let the ponies have their extras. They will always have the inferior platform.

I agree with OP.

I came into this thread for information.

It's 2024, preloads should be mandatory. Pre-purchase in order to preload should also be mandatory.

No one likes knowing a game comes out X day/time and also knowing they will have to buy then download that 50+gb game instead of jumping in the moment it's live. They should be able to play it the exact moment it officially releases.
Think of those that have slow internet and have a bit of empathy.

We can all see the release date shows 1/31/24 on Steam. However, I see 2/1/24 on the official website.
Does that mean 12:01am on the 31st?
Does that mean 11:59pm on the 31st? (Basically would be 2/1/24)

Exact dates and times matter. Marketing needs to be better about this FOR ALL GAMES. We shouldn't ever have threads such as this. Due to ambiguous dates/times.

If it were done right it would state:
Granblue: Relink unlocks at:
12:01am (PST) -- 2/1/24 (this leaves NO QUESTIONS)

Just look at the store page and there's a counter. Mine says it's out in 2 days. Due to timezones yours might be different.

Japanese developer will always side first with consoles, it's their bread and butter.
Plus I am enjoying it right now on my inferior PS5 hooked up to my LGC1 with Sonos Arc.
It looks amazing not going to look much better on PC.
Real gamers own a gaming pc, consoles and EVEN controllers.:watchingyou:

It took some googling but I found it. (assuming it's correct)

PST = 09: 00 PM (January 31st)

Would be great if Steam included the time it unlocked along side the days left. No questions needed, everyone knows at a glance.

PC can literally do everything any console can do and a ton more. + Emulators.

How well it looks and runs on PC vs console is down to the port and devs. It has the potentially to ALWAYS look/play better on PC, period.

Real gamers...do explain what a fake gamer is to us please. LMAO

MS started the trend of putting their "exclusives" on Steam. Sony is slowly following. Nintendo just realized the internet existed.

The only console that a person is forced to own other than PC is Nintendo's because they have always been a decade or so behind where every other company is at. One day they'll wise up and realize they can make a ton more money by adding their exclusives to Steam.

That is not really true. It seems on PS5 for 60FPS you will have no more than 1080p. When you put it at quality like 4K it will still not be true 4K but will be at 30FPS. This is based on what I am seeing from different people on youtube.

Thank you all for all the replies. I understand all of the points from everyone and all points well taken. I will try to be patient and wait for the game to be available on Steam on release day. Thanks again.

Sony did not sign any evil agreement to not release on PC and do so first on Consoles, Japanese Markets care more for Consoles and there's no Data Mining on Consoles.

So the reason why there's no Demo and Pre Order / Pre Load of the game is more likely related to avoid Data Mining and spoilers of the Game before the release of it.
