Gran is who I play as in the gacha and who I will play as here. He makes the most sense story wise given how he is paired with Lyria in a boy meets girl story, Gran constantly being compared to his father by other characters, Gran's angst over his absentee father in Seeds of Redemption, Eugen acting as his surrogate dad, the True King offering his daughter's hand in marriage for an alliance with Gran, etc. And here in Relink I'm guessing they're going to pose Id as a foil to Gran.

Well, I'll just pick male and a class that can support my waifus with buffs and such, sorta like the Princess Knight from "Princess Connect!"

I mean I would if I could.. But afaik the MC will be locked to the fighter class and the waifus are nowhere to be seen, so I assume Djeeta? Idk.. Surprisingly difficult choice. Do we have to play as the captain during the story?

None of the characters have a class in Relink, but he/she gets access to a bunch of different skills that allow him/her to take on any number of roles. You can swap between characters, but the Captain has to be in the party during the story.
