people are more against ultrawide users inflated sense of importance
Just look at all the newer games coming out that everyone claims support ultrawide just because those resolutions show up in the option menus. But then if you look closer barely any of are compatible with ultrawide because in 80% of these games there is unwanted cropping going on, mostly in the UI where the top and bottom side is cut off even in a lot of cases even the main menu has that problem.
And yes I am using ultrawide with an aspect ratio of 32:9, which makes above problems even more visible then the more used 21:9 apsect ratio. So yes even having black bars by putting my monitor in a 16:9 aspect ratio or even just by the game not giving me the option of the ultrawide resolutions. As that is better then having above problems which makes a game nice to look at but in a lot of cases unplayable.
Frankly I'm happy to play with black bars assuming the HUD isn't weird and messed up.
