A few more characters have been announced since then. Zeta and Vaseraga are from the Society, which is a very lengthy storyline which I haven't finished, but IIRC that faction is based on the moon. Two characters being added in a patch in April, Seofon and Tweyen, are from the Eternals, which is supposed to be a ten man team of the strongest weapon wielder of each weapon type (Seofon being the atrongeat swordsman, Tweyen strongest archer). A couple other characters were announced, Cagliostro and Ghandagoza, who aren't apart of any factions and appear in miscellaneous events.
As for relationships, many of the characters in this game don't know each other. There are a lot of different storylines and factions with their own lore. The GBF setting is countless floating islands. Events on one island rarely affect another. Characters spend their whole lives on one island having never bumped into or heard about characters on another. The Dragon Knights storyline (Lancelot, Vane, Percival, and Siegfried are from that) is tied with the Society storyline (Vaseraga and Zeta) as the biggest side storyline in GBF, and yet that storyline only encompasses three islands (Feendrache where Lancelot/Vane/Siegfried are from, Wales where Percival is from, and a third island with no representatives from it in Relink). And the Dragon Knights characters don't know anyone else outside their bubble aside from Gran, the main character. And that goes for most of the rest of the characters. Zeta doesn't know Seofon since they're from two different spheres (Society and Eternals). Narmaya doesn't know Vaseraga. Seofon is allegedly the strongest swordsman ever and feared across the setting but he and his group is never mentioned outside of the Eternals storyline, and if you're doing Gran's storyline then it is Walfrid who is hyped up as the strongest, most feared swordsman in the setting. Etc. GBF Versus was the first time a lot of the characters ever interacted with each other, so the same might happen here through party banter during quest mode. The singleplayer main campaign seems to be just about Gran's crew, doesn't seem like the Dragon Knights or anyone else will feature in it.
If you meant "relationship" by shipping, then Gran and Lyria have been shipteased in the gacha, though I doubt it will ever amount to anything. Gran holding Lyria's hand in the anime was the most we ever got. There are a few characters who are paired together like Stan and Aliza, but they're not in this game. In the gacha you can give characters perpetuity rings but you don't get any voicelines or anything, it's just a 10% stat boost. GBF doesn't really do romance.
