Beholder 2 Beta

Beholder 2 Beta

This game is sequel, prequel or goes at the same time as Beholder 1?
I am asking because during work a visitor mentioned Klaus Schimmer reading books.

Thanks a lot for the answer. So it looks like some of the endings of Beholder 1 are non-canon.

I beleive the canon ending is: The Government stays in power, the war continues and carl clones are created.

That means Carl (and probably his family) is dead. I wonder which ending of Blissful Sleep is canon and if there will be any mention about Hektor.

I found Carl clone! Such a great easter egg!

I think that all of them can be canon, because all of them occur many years or even decades after Beholder 1

Perhaps, but for sure the clone ending for Carl is canon.

But there is only one ending where Carl clones are made, so that means that is the only one canon ending.

Beholder 2 is set in 1984. The last directive in Evan's inbox is dated May 1984.

Going by the directives in the inboxes: Blissful Sleep takes place in August 1984. Carl's adventure in Beholder 1 takes place in September 1984.

But that makes no sense, as you see stuff that clearly happens after September 1984, like Carl's clones, and this. [gyazo.com]

Well, that's the dates in the game. How do you know that Carl isn't a clone himself?

Or the developers might just have been sloppy. But the dates are verifiable by looking at the dates of the directives from the ministry.

I beleive it's very much likely that the Carl in Beholder 1 is not a clone, as he is able to pay Bruno to give him a perfect record, allowing him to be cloned, as the phone call informs him to report to the clone center, along with the end with states that the original died in the cloning, it would be pretty weird if they show a cutscene that had nothing to really do with the clone.

Also this. [gyazo.com]

But, it could quite easily be sloppy work, this is the early beta after all, they'll probably fix it in some way.
Turbobounce Aug 8, 2018 @ 3:59am
A simple way to fix this would be to change all the dates in Beholder 2 from 1984 to 1985.
JVC Aug 8, 2018 @ 4:06am
It would. Let's see what it will look like in the final version. It just might be something they haven't got around to yet.
