Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword

Sid Meier's Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword

My game keeps crashing
About 30 min to an hour in game, my game starts to "blink" (the screen goes black for half a second) and then it freezes for a couple seconds, and returns me to the desktop saying that "this game is blocked from using graphics devices." It still says it's open, but when I click on the bottom of my screen where the icon is it just doesn't reopen. When I close out of the game again the same problem occurs ,but it still runs fine for like 30 minutes. This is happening whenever I play any version of the game except for Colonization ,but I personally find that Colonization isn't worth my time. Plz help.

EDIT: It can actually happen within seconds of me getting into the main menu. Well ♥♥♥♥.

It was difficult to find a fix to the problem, and this process should fix it
Just instead right click the desired Civ game, click properties, click local files, browse files, a file browser will pop, scroll down until you find the .exe for the game & do the process in the video :)

Sorry to hear that.... I suggest you try Steam Support (click "Help" in the top lefthand area of this Steam page, and then when the menu opens, click on "Steam Support").

I'm having the same problem tonight. Was working fine a week ago, now it starts beeping and crashes when I am in Civ 4. Can't tell if the problem is Civ or Steam in General. : (

In windows 10 I cannot do the recommended fix. I will click on properties and there is no local file folder. I installed warlords hopefully this will work.
