They aren't doning the same thing.
My list only contain games with full nudity and only games that don't need an external download to be able to play uncensored (only through steam).
Even though there list is far from complete if they want to include all games with external patch. There are only 25 titles in there list which only contains 2 Sakura games. So if you would only look at the Sakura games they would have already missed about 15 games with external patch.

Kinda surprised the Nekopara games haven't gotten their adult patches released yet.
Best selling VN on Steam without them patches so far.

It is not that I don't want to play games with external patches or disregard them.
It was always possible for publisher to release a game with an adicional patch also if they weren't allowed to link them.It just makes it a lot harder if you have multiple games like this. As already mentioned there are more than 15+ Sakura games and this are by far not the only games which provides an external patch. If you don't want to install all the games in your libary or play some of them on a different PC you always have to look for the patch. I just want to highlight and support this types of games which released there content directly through steam and I hope some publisher see this and try to follow their example.

It is possible they worry that people would be offended that the patch itself cost the same as the game. I also think the nekopara games may be published by sekai as a company, and they want to keep porn to denpasoft to easier claim that sekai is a child friendly company.
