WoW
and all that because dev scammed us to re buy a game we already owned...
And when you become the biggest Liar of them all they call you, "Mr. President."
MadMind should be a group of politicians, not business people or game devs.
*Mic Drop*
First, I have bought more than a few games on Steam for a bigger discount than 95% (97%, 98%, 99%) and even gotten two or three that went through a limited time giveaway....that means they were 100% FREE for a limited time (Usually a week (7 day) window to get it for free). The line that you can't give it away for less than a 95% discount holds no water.
Second, I have purchased games that were/are censored but have a DLC option (usually free) that allows for the full version of the game. Some games allowed the DLC to be "obtained" for free for a period of time (many, many, many months) and then started charging but only after giving a 30 days (or more) notice that they would be charging for it. That argument also doesn't hold water.
Third, I have more than a few games in my steam library (I'll use The Transformers games as an example) that can no longer be purchased or found for purchase, but they are still in my inventory, and I can still download then and play them. In the case of The Transformers games, it was because ACTIVISION changed its Licensing Agreement, but the games (along with about 20 others) are still there for me to install and play. So... another argument goes down, and this time in Hellfire and flames.
MadMind has played games with its customers in relation to this game since the start. I'm calling it all a BS money grab behind a bunch of smoke....but we can see through.
Now, if...IF....people decide to give in to the smoke and mirrors and purchase something they already had.... IF Steam changes it's agreement, or... IF there is another solution found that's better... can/will those who (re)purchase AU be given refunds?
Like others, I got the game early on, and I got it for the UNRATED version. You can have the current (censored) version back! I'll give you my key for AGONY: CENSORED in exchange for AGONY: UNRATED. How about that?
Final thoughts:
I don't know that I will ever be able to purchase any more MadMind games in the future. I have not purchased SUCCUBUS, and won't until this is resolved. I have other MadMind games on my wish list, but I will be removing them all and refusing to purchase any more games, until this is resolved, and resolved in a manner that is satisfactory to all.
And a final, final thought:
I get keys to free games on steam a lot via Humble Bundle. The Dev could also give away keys that way (HumbleBundle) or via it's MadMind website and that would go around steam entirely.
Stop playing games with your customers, MadMind, Give us the games you promised, and that we purchased, or the Red Goddess will be coming for you and your profits because people aren't gonna buy the BS anymore, or your crummy games.
- Players side (raging for a thing that we got for FREE if we had the main game...)
- Steam's side
- Your (developer) side.
Now it's on -99% (9 cents) for those who have the main game, 40-something cents for Asians, and 85% (1.87€) if you don't have the main game.
I actually spent some dimes for this now, so I'm not even mad.
(imagine the next thing: somehow you (dev) make the Unrated version free again in the near future.
Then the next rage will be "I SPENT 9 CENTS ON THIS GAEM, GIMME BACK MA'h MONEY!"... )
It was 99% for me.
You can't obtain Steam keys without them first being generated by Steam/Valve. Devs are free to do with them what they want once they receive them (within certain rules) but there's no way to do an end run around the Steam platform to put a game on Steam.
Hello guys, as you can see, we've set up several separate bundles for different regions, depending on the minimum price that each region allowed us to get away with. It ranges from 65 to 95% off.
It's worth mentioning that this is a temporary solution and the only one available to us using our tools. We are, however, contacting Steam and GOG as well to ask for a significant number of free keys for Agony UNRATED (for those who are unaware, devs can't generate a big number of keys without giving the platform owner a good reason to do so).
If they provide us with those, we'll set up a system where Agony owners will be able to claim their lost copy of the game. Stay tuned here or on our Discord to get an update on that.
I think that would allow bypassing the price limits in bundles (for instance, at the moment I see no bundle in Argentina - not even the -65% one, I guess it got auto-hidden when combined with the 85% discount on the base game)
Keys are great as well obviously... if Steam does give them
Now I see a 96% discount in my region and I will hurry to use it.
This will suit me completely in the current situation and I hope, that in the future, your game will not disappear from my library again :)))
