The best thing about having a disc with a game- it will NEVER be changed remotely.
If the game was banned by greedy publishers in your country - you will, at least, have the ability to play offline. Plus, there will never be game-breaking patches unless you download them directly.

Warcraft 3 perfectly showed us, how vulnerable our videogame libraries could be.

When I said downloadable installer, obviously I meant a proper (aka "offline") installer (which you can back up however you like). Not one of those modern 1-2MiB craps that turn out to download everything at install time.

b) steam itself is a big DRM to all users

Ugh, Steam itself is not DRM. It's a download client that optionally allows DRM. The overwhelming majority of your games can be played without Steam once you have downloaded them. Just back the game folders up to a flash drive and viola! You never need to use Steam to play those games again.

I already had the game installed, but now I'm only given the option to purchase. Even if I go to the .EXE file in the Agony Unrated folder on my computer it just pulls up the steam store page.

That would be really odd though. I live in America where very little is censored (yay!) so IDK.

Now this is pure theory, but I think I’m pretty confident in it, the reason why valve removed it from the package, is that a non adults only game effectively Trojan horsed in an adults only one. Had agony unrated been part of an AO bundle with normal agony, or an adults only dlc, it would be fine. But because it was added to a non adults only package, it violated tos (and probably some law). This is why you can’t re add it, you’re adding an ao game to a non ao package. The proper solution is to either grant users a coupon for unrated or make it free in a bundle.
Bro give me my game back. I just wanted to play it but it turns out it has disappeared from my library.

This is right and wrong, steam *is* a drm, the vast majority of games, even if they lack denuvo, will not simply launch without steam present. A very small amount (such as Witcher 3) will allow you delete the steamworks dll and launch it freely.

Please stop talking about what you don’t know, steam is a drm, a very poor and loose one, but a drm nonetheless. I think the fact they revoked this game is proof enough of that fact.
