GTR2 open GTR2 configuration center again and again

Hello, i have a problem, i cannot run and play GTR2 because, when i click on GTR2.EXE, the configuration window opens and returns whatever the configuration I choose (I'm on Windows 10) ... the game never starts so. I already tried to change the compatibilities. Someone can help me ? :'(

I remember having the same problem with my retail copy of GTR2.
I think the problem was that Configure and GTR2 run at different users one as Admin and one as user / invoker. So the config is writen to another users folder than the game does look for it.
Not sure how I forced the game to run as Non-Admin, but it does run as user nowadays, for me.
But maybe it was enough to just edit some ini-files in the game folder and maybe in %userpath%\Documents\GTR2 too, so my install won't use the systems user-folder for most of its files anymore, but the folder in the games own subdirectory.
And of course you should check on permissions on the game folder :-)

Not sure what exactly was the final sollution back then, but maybe this gives you a hint into the right direction :-)

I just bought GTR2 on the recent sale, and I'm having the same problem. I tried setting both GTR2.exe and the config program to run as administrator, but that didn't solve the problem,

Crew Chief GTR2 Enhancements Plugin fixes GTR2 startup bugs, windowed mode etc and many other issues. You can get it at thecrewchief.org. It is also included with the Crew Chief application.

Make the root C:\GTR2 (if Steam you can copy the entire folder over).. run the European update, which restores all of the Ferrari's, then the NOCD patch. These can all be found with Google. I know HQ has a patch that does all of this but it's quite large. I always start with those first three things and never have issues.
