Is online multiplayer working on STEAM?

I have a retail version and I cannot play online... Does steam version works with online multiplayer so i can activate it with my serial?

no its not working,
official lobby servers of gtr2 are offline.

You need to find a community that race online, and using their own lobby server.

Keep in mind too that GTR 2 Steam version needs to be patched! No Porsche or Ferarri skins. They are black/grey license problem. Hard retail copies are still intact though.

It doesn't reeeeeally need to be patched, but I do recommend doing it because the Ferrari is a freaking GREAT car :)
I think I did 2:14:5 with it on the default Spa 2004. It really is an amazing car.

No it doesn't need patched to run but it griped me to find the Steam version did indeed had some of them blacked out. I was being lazy and purchased the Steam version when I had the origial hard copy of GTR 2 since it was new. I just reinstalled my retail version and use it mainly. I will get around to patching the Steam version later.
