Most immersive game since Shenmue 1/Deus Ex, Deal with it.
Sorry if these facts will hurt some of you people, specially casuals that never played truly immersive games(kind of hard when DLC pop ups are happening all over the game).

Anyways lets look at the cold hard facts.

Despite this game being a kickstarter/indie game, it's way more immersive that 99% of BS games out there.

The simple fact you have to make money to progress the storyline, the simple fact you have to wait to complete some task makes this game way more immersive than any POS Open world game where you teleport to places and do missions ASAP, that alone already destroys 99% of games.

The simple fact you could just walk around a living breathing world, buying food, eating to not starve(even if it's simple as pressing A in inventory, a thousand times)....that fact alone, makes it more immersive.

Going to town, deciding to play arcades, do jobs, etc...buy martial arts move, etc...instead of doing the storyline, is why this game is awesome...That's choice, ladies and gentlemen.

Look I understand you people were born after the 2000s and never played shenmue/deus ex thus you people have no idea of immersiveness...I understand....You people wouldn't know what immersiveness means if it hit you in your face.

Casual 2000+ born gamers, just GTFO, go back to reddit to agree with up voted post....You people know nothing about immersive gaming.

Shenmue 3 when it's all said and done, is an 8-10 game....depending on your perspective....personally I give it a 9.3.

The freedom of tasks between the games story progression is my favorite aspect of well. Deciding whether today is a training day or a goof off day is fun. Working for a day saving up money to gamble so I could trade items in for a move so I can train that same move up the next day ect. It's a cool thing not many open world games touch.

Exactly.

One of the things about shenmue 1, was that eating wasn't a part of it...so although you could buy chocolate bars, you couldn't eat them to stay full...Always thought that sucked.

Shenmue 3 fixed that...even though it's a simple press of A in inventory items, it atleast makes people have to get a "job" or "gamble" to make money so they will eat and not starve......It's fun tbh.

Like you said, that's the cool thing about the game, you can choose to progress the storyline or just chill and play games/gamble/or "work"....There's something truly immersive/fun about that.

Specially in this age where you can literally teleport all over the map in open world games, where you don't need a job/eat/etc.

Of all the issues people mention, immersiveness was never a complaint. Or the lack of. But yes, that's all there is to it, let's ignore everything else because it did some parts of it right.

Anthem did some parts right too, didn't make it a great game overall. It's okay to point out the flaws too, you're aware of this, right? You are literally like the people you're attacking, by being on the other extreme end where you treat it like a near perfect product.

Just because it has some immersive sides to it, doesn't suddenly make it the best game ever. There's more to shenmue than just that, for people.

You clearly have a hate boner towards open world games and that's totally fine, i've had my fill of them too since most of them aren't that original or interesting. I just think hammering down on this pretending it's a near flawless product is just as insane.

And no i'm not born after 2000. Since that's somehow considered a valid opinion.

nobody ever said it wasn't immersive though?

I love the eating aspect, I always wished that was so in the first two games.

Ah yes, the same repeated dialogue with every vendor is such an immersive game to eat some buns. Playing mini games are the bees knees. But hey, instead of playing mini games? How about being forced to play the mini games, to get the money or the skills to even get further in the game?

Don't wanna play mini games? Too bad, you need money to move forwards. Play... Your... Mini Games...

They are immersive!

Play mini games to raise your stats to win the next bout.
Play mini games to get money to get things for other people in back and forth quests.

Mini games, weeee! It's immersive!

This is called sarcasm, don't try and tell people how the game plays that have already played it.

That reminds me I need to play Deus Ex

has nothing to do with times

deus ex all the way to mankind devided is awesome

shenmue 3 is a flop despite shenmue dojo people buying the game 10 times to giove it 10 good reviews

it has early ps3 graphics
it has ps1 controls
the npc go from realistic to karikatures

game is not bad. just not good either.. a loty of people will be misled by the excessive amount of shill reviews of multibuyers who are rabids when it comes to shenmue

I did yep. Preferred the first game still. But for them to claim this game is in anyway super immersive, is a joke really. Ya spin ya joystick, ya hit ya key prompts. The same ones over and over to level stats or gamble etc.

Same dialogue each time, which was not like that in 1 and 2.

And once again, you do know that's exactly how training/ gambling worked in that game too? Not saying Shenmue III did enough to take the franchise further, but spamming moves in training to boost your stats/ one button prompts during gambling were present in Shenmue 1 as well.

Ya, but you actually had to do the moves. Not mash buttons. Just saying... It actually helped you get the timing down, for <- -> K pause K. No point in it now.

I agree with that. But that comes down to the lack of the Virtua Fighter engine or a good replacement. I've mentioned that in my review and it's probably this games biggest downside.

I'm really enjoying it

totally agree, 8.5 hours, and I have been training and making money, that's only recently passed hide and seek mission with kids

today people no longer play games, but run, they better watch TV shows
