This guy gave us: after burner, out run, super hang-on, shenmue and virtua fighter - he was the bloodstream in SEGA for years. He has been trying to get money to fund and finish Shenmue III for the fans for years, you think this is what he personally wanted? Probably Deep Silver who F'ed him and us over. I will still support the game, by getting it for the Ps4 no way am I gonna pay them money through "epic store".

Yes, he raised 6.3 million from 70,000 people in order to make the game.

This is the exact same thing that happened with the Metro Exodus game.

I think we need stop rewarding such shady business practices or it will

never stop. We can still show our support for Yu Suzuki by buying his older games.

What do you think? a 50 year old male in Japan, you think he really hangs on STEAM? Japan isnt about the pc market, but console WITH THAT SAID, a real buisness man would explore the market in which to profit and make money from, sure, so I can see how he cant be blind to STEAM in that sense.
But maybe he think STEAM,GOG,EPIC are just stores any pc owner just buy games from? Maybe he think this is just another venue for consumers to download the game, and dont know how big and important STEAM libraries are to people.

Let's not forget that the shenmue devs are not alone in this. Deep silver is their publisher. On the surface, epic giving a greater cut to the "developers" sound like a good deal BUT in the case of a developer tied to a publisher, how much of the extra cut actually goes to the developer? Steam takes 30% while epic takes 12% so difference is 18%. All 18 goes to the devs? It could very well be a case of the publisher taking the bulk of the extra while the devs only get a small percentage(eg 1%). Yet backers get shafted for such a deal?

people just want a scapegoat to take their anger out on. Yu Suzuki is the face of Shenmue and the kickstarter. Hes someone they can beat up on that they can recognize as a person, rather than an amorphous, faceless publisher. Yu doesnt get the final say in financial decisions. hes the game guy, not the money guy. Shenmue is Yu's baby. He wouldnt willingly jeopardize it like that. If he had the ability to make these kinds of financial decisions, sega would have made Shenmue 3 a long time ago.
