Fishing bot
It would be made in the Advanced Lab like the rest but it goes to the water and either fishes by the shore or floats on the water like a small rowboat and comes and goes and fishes.

It came to me that most 'working' NPCs have bot versions except the fisher. After the bombardment he doesn't fish i think.

Not that fish are that important... yet. But if we can build the Advanced Lab underground, then we can make fishing bots fish in the water cave at Sunset Haven and gather some rare fish. Even at the underground cave at the Pirate Island.

Yeah, it's just not important enough right now to merit a while bot. Maybe when we get to the quality of life update...

I'll second that suggestion, or at least maybe have the fisher guy visit the Mirrow's cave for fishing? It's just kind of nice to have folks do something after the Event. Though I agree that this is very low priority (albeit fishes did come in handy at a certain part of the game, and the electric eel was a delight as a familiar for its function).

I do not know which 'fish' that are in question here for Mildew & zhurovium , *and* I do agree that it would be 'kind of nice to have folks do something' (with respect to interaction to NPCs generally) .
However , I find 'fishing' and the use water traps as one of the 'cool' requirements in the game and it might sort of spoil some of the 'fun' in the game if everything is 'given' to you., I mean we can already farm a lot in Coral Pans so unless I have missed something about 'fish' then I do not see why it has to be any easier !?!?

I was referring to the fish that you can catch by using the fishing rod. Since then I realized some other, more rare, items can be caught, making this possibility even more appealing, But, honestly, this was more of a question of getting the Fisherman to fish again before the End, just to get things to be a bit more lively (like, for instance, in the starter island cave we have the Alchemist collect from pens and the Farmer collect from hydroponics post Bombardment - it's not just idle despairing).

There is no water in the colony ship hold for the fisherman to fish in, though...

Yes, I meant for the fisherman to go to the water cave, for instance, where the Mirrows currently are (clearly it's safe there, would they let him in though? Maybe?)

By the time they get to the water cave, the Mirrows are on your side, so I would think they would let the fisherman go there.

Oh damn, a fisher bot would be awesome. I suck at fishing minigame, so a way to automate the thing would be great.

I just max my fishing skill to make easy money, then I use the time manipulator to reset my skills

Don't forget, though, that there is no warehouse to return the fish to, so you'd need to add a chest, spirit storehouse, or bunker depot there.

Actually, there is abunker depot in the bunker.
