No sound in demo on Linux
Trying the demo version (on Linux Mint 64 bit) but there's no sound (it isn't muted!). The free web version on Kongregate has sound and I don't have sound issues with any other games/apps. Any idea what's likely to be the problem? What I've seen so far makes me want to buy but not if it's a silent movie!

EDIT: I found another post with the same question here on Steam but there was no reply.

What post didn't I reply to? I just did a search for sound linux and I responded to the only other one: https://steamcommunity.com/app/876650/discussions/0/2788173147739672911/

My guess is that, like Clifford, you're missing the 32-bit pulse library as you're running Linux Mint 64-bit. Try using this command to install it:
sudo apt-get install libpulse0:i386

Thanks David, I can't seem to find the post I mentioned although I'm certain it exists although it was a couple of years old (found via external search). The problem with installing the 32 bit libraries is that it will remove 42 packages, some of which seem pretty important(!), viz:

The following packages will be REMOVED
cinnamon cinnamon-control-center cinnamon-control-center-dbg cinnamon-dbg
cinnamon-settings-daemon gimp gir1.2-cvc-1.0 gnome-orca
gnome-settings-daemon gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio
guvcview libasound2-plugins libcanberra-pulse libcvc-dbg libcvc0
libespeak-ng1 libfluidsynth1 libgegl-0.3-0 libguvcview-2.0-2 libpcaudio0
libpulse-dev libpulse-mainloop-glib0 libpulse0 libpulsedsp libsdl-image1.2
libsdl1.2debian libsdl2-2.0-0 libsdl2-dev libsdl2-image-2.0-0
libsdl2-image-dev mint-meta-cinnamon mint-meta-codecs orca pulseaudio
pulseaudio-module-bluetooth pulseaudio-utils speech-dispatcher
speech-dispatcher-audio-plugins speech-dispatcher-espeak-ng vlc
vlc-plugin-base

I have another machine with the latest MX Linux installed and adding libpulse0:i386 via apt-get solves the problem (no packages are removed as they would be with Mint).

Hope that info is of some use :D

Hmm... Why would installing pulse 32 remove that many packages on mint? I don't use mint, but it should install dependencies not remove packages. Glad it works on the other machine - it's worked fine on all distros I've tried.

Just for information, the removal of packages only seems to apply to Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop. I've installed the pulse library as suggested on MATE edition, nothing is removed and the game has sound :D

Both were Mint version 19.3 64 bit.
