Vine Copse Modification question

Hi there,

On the wiki page for modification, it says:
"At the Talon Copse, you can modify any equippable item."

How do I modify equippable items?

When using the vine copse, I can only see the ability to modify vehicles and familiars (as well as the crafting recipes).

I have been scouring the wiki and forums, finding posts where people say they gave their drills a fin for efficiency, which makes me think that it's possible, but I can't for the life of me figure out how.

Any help figuring out how to give modifiers to weapons and armor would be much appreciated. Thanks

The Talon Copse is a separate building from the Vine Copse. It's unlocked late in the magic path. When you do unlock it, modifying weapons works like modifying familiars.
