silicon farming

anyone know how to get lots of quartz/silicon on a tech only file?

depends how far in the game you are?
the safest bet is to mine deep, find diamonds and sell them for money then buy quartz every time the merchants restock it. that's as much as I'll reliably give without spoilers

if you've finished the second island there is a lot of quartz in the red soil above the submarine maze
if you've finished that (major spoilers) > you should have a space ship and travelling to earth and completing the quests there will reward you the mobile lab which can craft unlimited silicon and gets faster with more scientists recruited

Wait what abt titanium its pretty easy to mine but i like farming everything so that i always have some

mobile lab or collecting them from the ocean between the first couple science islands. Alternatively, you can farm titanium from earth enemies in the ruined portion (outside and inside)

Titanium farming:
below the starter island is a cave that when first entered says it feels like a different dimension and changes every time. Always at the bottom somewhere is a chest with 2 titanium. You can renter this cave over and over to farm it and other basic materials. Helps to be OP when doing this such that lava blocks do 0 damage or says blocked when mining them.

i meant farming as in i can do other things and i can pop by an island/planet and just grab it (similar to golems who make iron ore+coal so that i never run out)

Ah! Sorry I don’t think there is a way to do that. I am far into the game but have not seen anything provide it in that way. The method I did provided has been my way of life to mass pile the stuff rather quickly. I wish there was a way to do that lol.

If i figure out a way (maybe transfusion from one element to another?) I'll let you know. Im being pretty through and already stumbled onto a bunch of new secrets due to my recent uh body changes??? Getting distracted now cause all the new shinies. This game just doesnt stop impressing me at every turn :)

For leaving something to produce it while you are away, the mobile lab is your best bet.

I have to agree. I got this baby and was gonna say something but you already got to it. That thing is amazing for farming most of the late game materials. As far as Quartz you just have to use the time manipulator and uncraft silicon into quartz. Anyway having a blast. I think the end is neigh for me but what an adventure it has been so far. Epic for sure.
