Man, wyrm hive is too much.
I prepared signs, but soon I realized that it's useless.

I mean, it's too big!! and half of them is waste of space.

why would I want several exits to one island, while they are scattered everywhere in every side of maze?

flying over the sea is simple and quick then navigating the whole maze, tracking signs you planted.

this can't be used as shortcut across the islands.

and probably, when I can blow up these maze walls(if possible)..

there will be no need to doing so, due to way-too-hightech-already.

don't you think this is too much when you making those, devs?!

Not really, they're an optional area that some players enjoy, and those who don't avoid them like the plague.

It is actually necessary for one "hack" I have used frequently to circumvent a quest or two. Also, Jack O' Lanterns work very well for marking trails, plus they are much cheaper than signs (once you get a pumpkin/seeds). In addition, there are a few areas that cannot be reached any other way.

I like it. For instance, I enjoyed navigating it and discovering the paths when i believed that it would eventually be useful. And yes, i used some hundreds jack-o-lanterns to mark every possible route. And as stated above, there are some unique areas within it. But yes, it is somehow satisfactory to eventually being able to smash all the thing.

i looked for a solution on the forums and guides and generally googling yesterday before spending a couple of hours making a map of my caves. i was feeling really good about it -- it's not often a game these days forces you to make maps or notes! -- and my map came out well.

30 minutes later, i discovered that one of the merchant vendors on the mirrows' island sells a map. when you use the map item, it shows you a zoomed out area around you.

it's not a perfect solution -- you still don't know where the cave is gonna dump you, and you can't like zoom out or pan around. but it's enough to make that whole area way less frustrating.

That's why jack o' lantern trails and signs (telling where they go) are beneficial.

its pretty easy to navigate once you get a map and a level 5 drill tool. helpful too when you need to get materials from various different islands

Drilling it all out is late-game, though.

You can use it to travel to the Water Cave to see the Mirrows without triggering bombardment (by going to Sunset Haven) if you want to set up a Bombardment Shield before the bombs drop. It’s a pain if you already accepted the “Evolve Dragon Ship” quest, but if you stockpiled silicon earlier and you need to power the Advanced Lab on Divider Island, you can make torpedoes then bring them to the Time Manipulator and uncraft silicon from them.

There are also two hives with respawning Wyrm Queens in the wyrm tunnels if you want to stockpile Spirit Gems that way.

A Spirit Detector, map, or owl will make it easier to see things; the spirit detector will show any signs you’ve placed, so you can zero in on entrances.
